Just to warn those who read this to remember there is no reference to resource or contacts to confirm these are legitimate source.
Having worked for companies like what's implied here (and my sister too - the company she worked for this year had it's Christmas party was - and it was mandatory - because it was a staff meeting - calling it a Christmas party was just a way not to pay them...) - I would still advise caution.
Any source without substantial evidence to back it up has to be treated with a pinch of salt - especially on the internet. I've heard of many 'sources' to have come from 'company workers' on the web which ended up just to be fanboy junk.. it happens. :)
Bare it in mind!

The question is when is Rare going to develop a good game again? Grabbed by the Ghoulies was an utter failure. Perfect Dark Zero and maybe Kameo (if it ever comes out) are the only two games that look promiseing from Rare now.

Goulies did suck but Perfect Dark might pull a XIII on us and completely be horrible. As for Kameo I've seen a couple videos of it and it doesn't look too bad. But I'm really sure the new Conker game will be good.

Rare isn't what it use to be. It was slipping by the time we started getting into the new consoles. Star Fox: Adventures isn't a BAD game but it certainly isn't up to par with previous Rareware titles and Ghoulies is well... awful. Rare lacks creativity lately and until that is fixed then the company will continue to make games that could have been great but aren't.
The biggest problem I'm guessing is that most of the great employees left Rare and thus the company became more and more shallow in quality. So the question is... is there fresh talent out there that came pull Rare from the ashes? Possibly, but would they become a part of Rare... No one really knows.
I disagree with the views on Grabbed by the Ghoulies, the only thing wrong with it was that it was too short.

The controls were too awkward and the camera was just wrong. I must admit I have to give credit to Rare for trying something new no matter how much I didn't like the game.
How were the controls awkward?? Using the second control stick to attack was great because it allowed you to hit enemies from any side (you don't have to turn around & hit a button). As for the camera, I never had any problems with it.

Shooting with a gun in that game was a pain in the butt that alone makes me mad. The camera just wouldn't help me out at all. I try to find the door out of the room and I can't even do that. And no I don't suck at the game.

Just push the control stick in the right direction. It's not that hard.

The only time I had any problem finding a door was in the kitchen.

Shooting while running is the biggest pain. Trying to move the two control sticks in completely different directions can get frustrating. Also with the camera I've been mad at times when enemies especially the zombies would come out of nowhere because the camera couldn't get a shot of the whole room.
I don't recall any situation where you have to run & shoot in a completely different direction (care to mention any examples?)

Its a shame too. Rare has a history of being a GREAT game developer. I could list over 10 NES games they made that are some of the best on the system. As mentioned by everyone.......the last few years have not been kind to them.

The new Conker is just a remake. Even if it's good im not interested. Grabbed by the Gholies sucked, Star Fox adventures sucked, BK: Grunty's Revenge sucked. I'm feeling bad for Rare.

Anytime on the game run just run forward and try to shoot to the right.

Who cares about the new Perfict Dark?! Rare destroyed the image 3 days after they moved to MS!
Johanna was the only girl I could see that could be prefer more beautiful by fanboys than Lara Croft. Then she fell into a japanese manga with wet ink and came out as an ugly cross between Ulala from SC5 and Haruko from FLCL. I doubt that we can take her next adventure as serious as Perfict Dark for the N64. And I doubt it would be more mature than a XIII.
I'm not saying this because people think "OMGCELLSHADING=KIDS!!!1!", the reason is that her new look would work better in the Time Splitters universe. And that game's content wasn't as mature as Perfict Dark. Not to mention the fact that she is a spy. And she won't be a 007 Spy anymore. Now she will be more like a Totally Spies... erm Spy.

I thought Rare leaving Nintendo was a sign of the Apocalypse the first time I heard about it. Now after seeing many of their games (or lack thereof) still in development and a release of a rather unappealing game (made even more by it's commercial), I'm beginning to see that it's departure from Nintendo wasn't THAT bad.
I didn't like Star Fox Adventures that much either. It's too Zelda for it's own good. Star Fox should have been blasting people instead of using a pansy staff, and Tricky should not be in the game... EVER. That and when you got a new item, they're TOO happy.
And whatever happened to Falco?

Rare can still change the look of Johanna. They got a ton of negative feedback on the new design. It is still up in the air as to how the game will turn out though.

Game is short, easy, and extremely repeditive. I didn't find the controls too be bad or the camera to be awful (it wasn't great), but I did find the game to lose all entertainment value within the first 5 minutes of play.
Anytime on the game run just run forward and try to shoot to the right.
What I meant was that I didn't recall any situation where you were forced to do that.

You do realized that Star Fox Adventures used to be a game called Dinosaur Planet & Nintendo just convince Rare to turn it into a Star Fox game?
Game is short.
Yeah but that doesn't stop it from being good.
easy
What's wrong with being easy? Besides, it wasn't that easy (it took me a awhile to beat some of the Chapter 3 levels).
and extremely repeditive.
I disagree, I never felt the game became too repeditive.
And whatever happened to Falco?
He left the team do to lack of missions and money. However, in the final battle of the game you fight Andross in the classic Star Fox 64 like battle. When you eventually are in trouble Falco comes to the rescue and gives you smart bombs. Once you kill Andross and have the game beaten Falco rejoins the Star Fox team.

Nintendo letting go of Rare is what I like to call progress. I was never really fan of them in the first place and without them, I can finally look forward to a half-decent Donkey Kong game.

I enjoyed the score - I still have it on a free disk that game with the game!! Yes, the game was certainly fun for a while!

I surprisingly am not a Killer Instinct fan, even though many people are. Hopefully Rare will take time and develop a decent title on Xbox of KI3? I was a fan of Jet Force Gemini and Blast Corps (some games that many of my friends didn't like), personally I wouldn't mind new titles for those games. I didn't like the little of Grabbed by the Ghoulies that I played, but I am hoping Rare proves the current fans wrong by pulling out strong titles in Perfect Dark Zero and whatever else they have up their sleeve. I don't even own an Xbox, and I would feel it would be ashame if Microsoft spent a great deal of money in an acquistion that isn't worthy. Then again they spent quite a bit to make Shenmue 2 exclusively for Xbox in America, and that didn't generate much sales.

Yeah I was aware of that.
Quite frankly, I'm glad Nintendo let Rare go.
You could tell in SFA that it just didn't have the Rare 'spirit', and the Banjo-Kazooie GBA game had that 'Let's get it done, so we can get rid of Nintendo connections' feel. Don't *even* get me started on Grabbed by the Ghoulies OR the Conker's BFD 'remake'.
(It doesn't even LOOK like a remake. Now 'Phantasy Star 1' on PS2: THAT is a remake. Conker's BFD on Xbox = Not a 'remake')
Though I do hope Kameo is a decent game, if only for the Xbox's sake.
