I myself have never bothered to watch any of the direct-to-video sequels Disney has done. At least,in recent memory.

But,if you have one, what's your favorite?

I partially agree on that one. I watched some Disney movies in the past, but always have and always will avoid the... uhh... direct-to-video sequels. However, for me it was not the "I will not bother" situation that has caused me to avoid some television shows.

There was one that I liked- An Extremely Goofy Movie. The rest that I've seen were either average or bad.

I dont bother much with cheapquels either, but Return of Jafar is damned snazzy, despite poor animation and songs. (i do understand these are used as practise for young animators, but its just not Disney standards). Any other bit of a sequel I've seen has just been painful.

Lion King 2. They actually made a decent song or two to go with it. And the animation seemed to be "movie" quality.

I'd probably have to say The Little Mermaid 2: Return To The Sea. Then again, I always did Love The Little Mermaid, so maybe I'm just biased, but it had a somewhat intresting story and fairly decent animation.

I usually stay away from Disney direct-to-video sequels, though I must say that both the Aladdin sequels had SOMETHING going for them. RETURN OF JAFAR could have been much better, but the KING OF THIEVES was an excellent movie, and had a great plot - the animation and music weren't the greatest (more on par with the animated series) but overall I enjoyed it.

I'd have to say Aladdin and the king of thieves, it's not so much a chepquel but a finale to the tv series

Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The music was the best part. The score was by Nick Glennie-Smith, who scored the music for "The Rock," and who has worked with Hans Zimmer, who's the composer for the original Lion King. The songs are the best out of the Disney DTV sequels I've heard yet. The story had lots of parallels to the original, but it didn't bother me much. I see it as a Romeo and Juliet type story whereas the original was like Hamlet.

I haven't watched a single one of those things. I remember when I first saw adverts for Aladdin 2. I couldn't believe that Disney, which I thought at the time was dedicated to making only quality entertainment, would turn out such a cheap knock-off. The animation looked terrible and the idea for the story sounded awful. I find it hard to believe that many people actually enjoy these cheapquels. I honestly thought that by now everyone would be completely sick of them and the cheapquels would go unsold. Instead people pay to see these things in the cinema.

I liked Stitch: the movie. It wasn't neatly as good as the first one, but it was still good (even though it was a pilot for the TV series)

Are they gonna play that on Disney channel any time soon? I want to tape it.

Both Alladin sequels
An Extremely Goofy Movie
The Little Mermaid 2

and I like Atlantis 2, because we got to see what it would be like if they made a show of it.
In fact, if they didn't put in the crappy ending, they could have gone on more adventures and make more sequels.

here's some of the animated sequels i know of:

lion king 2
jungle king 2
peter pan 2
alladin 2
atlantis 2
stitch
lion king 1 1/2 (coming)
cinderella 2
the (some guy pooh knows dont' got a movie yet so here it is) movie ..

..... see a pattern in most of them? a 2.

people know now, sadly, that as long as disney makes sequels to good movies instead of making good movies great, but only making one so they never lose focus of what it is that made the 1st one great, they won't ever be strong in animation ever again.

you could have made 8 straight original animated movies instead of 8 projects, just continuations or rehashes, and kept interest in like this 'geee, new ideas from them, i'm gonna keep watching' instead of 'oh no, not again, no.. not ever again for me.'

Aladdin and the King of Theives
An Extremely Goofy Movie

Lion King 2
Return of Jafar

That's all I can really remember at the moment. The others were either barable, or really bad.

The Lion King 2. It was no where near as good as the original, but I did enjoy the story and the songs ("We Are One" is one of my fave Disney songs)

Other than that, none of the other sequels really spoke to me in any way.
