WRITTEN BY: J. Torres
ART BY: Todd Nauck and Lary Stucker
COVER BY: Dave Bullock

THE STORY: Get ready for the Beast Boy that cried wolf! Having a sense of humor isn’t always such a good thing…at least that’s what Beast Boy’s teammates think, since they tend to be the victims to his jokes. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice…uh-oh, trouble’s afoot and there are no teammates to lend a hand!

Well, the plot was obviously predicable, but the art remains great - better than the style of the animation, IMO.

Very nice issue. Despite the plot being a basic cliche. Eh, what are you going to do?

Time for me to add my comments, I guess... :)

I like to see comics that stay true to their subject matter. I'll forever compare this series to Justice League Adventures, the one comic I see as a pile of crap that continues to be pumped out monthly. Sure the arts always good to look at, but it's just such a boring read, because it's dumbed down for the "audience" that buys it. Yet we can get more mature-themed episodes on TV.

So of course, Teen Titans Go! is aimed at kids. But so is the show, which makes this feel like nothing more than extension of the show--which is perfectly fine. It helps the comic flow better when I know this is how the characters act on the show, I know that they make jokes like this, I know they goof off like they do--cause it's the way the show itself is done.

Beast Boy is shown much like himself in "Forces of Nature"--a pratical joker that ends up getting him in trouble. In the comic, the whole crew of Titans, sans Starfire, doesn't believe Beast Boy when he cries for help (hence the title "The Beast Boy Who Cried Wolf"), similar to Starfire not speaking to him at all in the first part of "Forces of Nature", due to his pratical joke gone awry. The story was silly at times, but some of the most enjoyable Teen Titans episodes are silly as well, so I really enjoyed it...

One thing I do like is the little "chibi" characters that adorn the pages. As much as I hate anime-influences, something about those "chibi" characters always gets to me--guess just cause they're so cute. It adds a bit of vibrance to the page which would otherwise be filled with nothing but white space.

It's still not my favorite comic I pick up each month, but it is fun to read. And the covers continue to become more and more interesting with each new solicitation each month...

Haven't bought the ish. yet. But I'm pretty sure I'll love it, since I'm a Beast Boy fan big time. I just loved the first issue (way better than the first ep. of TT on CN, in my opinion; the ep. was kinda bland in comparison, but good thing I kept watching; show's great and all) and I know I'll love this one, too. I'll write a proper talk-back when I actualyl GET the issue.

Loved it as usual. Keep em coming. ^_^ On a side note, I hope there is an issue that covers more of Raven's backstory later.

Can't promise any backstory per se, but issue #5 puts Raven in the spotlight and boy does she hate that!
