I just saw the second episode of Enterprise tonight and thought I'd see what you thought about it. For the most part I enjoyed it although I could have done without Hoshi's constant whining! I really like all the characters, especially Archer and T'pol. The battle at the end was cool to! Overall, I give it 8 out of 10 stars. :)

yeah, I rather enjoyed it as well. A very nifter-ty episode.
The next ep looks real cool as well.
I haven't chosen a fave character yet...still too early for me to decide..

I'm loving Enterprise, but I don't have a favorite character yet as they're still growing on me.
One thought about the ep though, wouldn't it be kind of cool if in a later season they stop back at that planet they dropped the alien "slug" off on and discovered that in doing so devastated the planets ecosystem?

I was thinking the slug could evolve into a formidable foe that we could see sometime in the future. After all, I do think they will do episodes that take place in the future before long. And I am sure they will eventually meet up with characters from the past series'

My favorite character thus far is probaby Trip. And what's really going to be great is the Archer-T'Pol-Trip relationship.
The episode was good. I was particularly glad to see that the final battle wasn't done Voyager-style, but instead had some thought to it. I was getting sick of Voyager always ending with the "Big Action Ending" (and of course always coming just fine).
I also loved that all the crew members pretty much sounded like normal people when conversing. A problem with past Trek is that conversations always felt too, I don't , proper I guess. And predictable. But the "Enterprise" crew seem like everyday people which is good. It's not perfect. Some of the acting needs a little work, so that the characters come across more natural, and less forced. But overall, the crew interaction has been good.
What I'm waiting for is to see whether the Temporal Cold War angle is going to be used as the "Big Picture" storyline, like DS9's Dominion or Prophets plot lines. IMO, Enterprise is going to need that kind of bigger storytelling in order to do well. Voyager was hurting badly from the writers' decision to ignore the overall premise and tell individual stories. Enterprise will suffer too if the writers don't come up with a larger story to drive the series.
But so far, I like what I've seen.

After the first two episodes of "Enterprise", I am very psyched. I am very much looking forward to a long run for this series. It has enough of the other Star Trek series to make it familiar, but has enough different and new to seperate it from the rest. I am quite impressed thus far.

I really liked the second episode, but I'm really looking forward to the new one. One thinks though the creatures look just like the ones from Pitch Black.

I'm actually not so sure. As of right now, Enterprise has far more familiar aspects than new ones. I think that any "newness" that exists is only because this is a new show with new characters. But after several episodes, it will no longer be quite so new and I'm not sure how good the show will appear then.
I like what I've seen so far, but there doesn't seem to be nearly enough change to set this show apart from past Trek. Thus far, the only major difference is one of perspective. We're seeing the same type of stories as before, but through the eyes of people that have never experienced this before. That's not enough. At some point, they've got to tell original stories. The writers have to push things forward in a major way if Enterprise is to have fresh storytelling.

Actually, the episode you are all talking about is episode three. Episode two aired immediately after episode one the first night the show premiered. :)
