My name originates from the meanie beanie "Got Lucky". Here's a picture. http://meanies.com/New_Site/meanies/images/valentine.jpg

And the 64 comes from N64 in case ya did'nt notice! ;)

I think we did do this one before, but what the heck. "flhero" refers to me and my group of odd friends, who have dubbed ourselves the FLHeroes, the proud slaves- I mean, employees of Food Lion, the official grocery store of NASCAR and the south. The "311" is for one of my favorite groups, 311, of course...

Jack
10-07-2001, 02:09 AM
Well, since I didn't participate in the first thread about usernames, I'll participate in this one...

There's no great mystery behind my username, Jack is my first name. It's not even short for anything like John or James. I decided to use it when I first signed up for the TTTP because at the time most everyone seemed to use their "proper" name, and I happen to like my name very much.

I guess I'll also explain my "title" (or whatever that line below everyone's name is called, I forgot), "The _____ Rabbit of Tomorrow!" When I signed up for the WBC board later on, I chose the name "Super Rabbit." When the Toon Zone forums moved to these new boards, I had to pick one name, so I went with Jack, but had a Super Rabbit avatar, as well as the title "Rabbit of Tomorrow!"

Even though it eventually bacame a regular practice to change avatars every week, I kept the same title, and just added a word that fit with my avatar in front of it. (i.e. "Patriotic Rabbit of Tomorrow!" or "Trap Happy Rabbit of Tomorrow!") Sort of a tradition for me.

And that's why my avatar and title don't match...

Jack:D

Failure. It was the name of a now defunct band. They were cool. I'm not sure why I picked the name though. It's kind of interesting I guess.

My cat's name is Tuffy and I love cats. Plus, I wasn't feeling very creative when I came up with my name! :p But I was a little creative when I added that extra "t" in there, so I think my name is okay and fits me pretty well! :)

P.S. I love Meanie Beanies too, GotLucky64! Lucky was always one of my favorites. My favorite, though, was the cat who had gotten run over by a car ( I know that sounds kinda disgusting, esp. since I like cats, but for some reason I like that one), whose name escapes me at the moment.

Fantasie117
10-07-2001, 08:28 AM
Okay...let's see...

science-fiction/fantasy is my favorite genre of everything (books, tv, movies, etc.). When I had to pick a handle for the SCIFI.COM boards, I chose Fantasie. (It's -ie and not -y because i like the -ie better.) Now, i use the name for everything on the Internet.

The 117 is in honor of one of my favorite shows First Wave, which had its series finale a few weeks ago. The bad guys knew the main character as "Subject 117" in their big experiment.

So that's my rather dull story.

Well, when I first signed up it was for the Batman Beyond board. Someone already had Blight, so I took Blight+Batman=Blight Man

The "29", I plucked out of thin air.

Here's a hint as to where I got my screen name:

"May the Schwartz be with you!"

Geezil
10-07-2001, 11:24 AM
Well, whether my answer even means anything depends on whether you're a fan of Popeye via the Fleischer shorts or--better yet--the truly legendary 1929-38 "Thimble Theatre" newspaper strips by E.C. Segar! (If by chance you've seen neither, then for the sake of your own lifelong cultural fulfillment, get started now!!)

Anyway, George W. Geezil was/is the Type A personality German/Eastern European (?) furrier, with glasses, long beard and thick overcoat, who would unfailingly start to show the first signs of a major seizure whenever approached by--as he put it in the newspaper series--"Flies-in-Mine-Zupe WIMPY!" Yet, somehow, he was very often front and center for Popeye's oceangoing adventures, even though this always meant being approached yet again by...

As for Geezil's presence in the Fleischer cartoons, maybe someone else could add to this: I know he appeared in at least one such short--the one involving bears and fur coats, naturally, but whose title I draw a blank on right now. What was that title again, please? And thanks!!!

The cat you are talking about is Splat the Roadkill Kat. I have a few meanies. I have Splat the Roadkill Kat, Boris the Mucusaurus, Dokening, Mike Byson, and Tigershark. Funny little thing was, I paid one buck apiece for Splat and Boris. MEANIES RULE!

I don't mind telling my username's origin over and over! :D

My name comes from Calvin's (of Calvin and Hobbes fame) greatest snow sculpture, BOURGEOIS BUFFOON. It seemed like a good unique user name...(kind you'd remember in the worst of places ;))and, it fits me well, as it has a ring of truth to it! :P

My name isn't Jack. Nor is it Just. haha.
I write a lot of stories, & draw a lot of characters..In each story of Comic of mine, I always have 1 character named Jack in each series. I don't know why, but eventually I realized I had way to many characters named Jack. so, Jack became my trademark, in a sense. hehe!

And thus, my official trademark became.."Just Jack". Sometimes I use the term "Just Jacked"...either way!

Spaceballs, huh?

Nothing special about mine. My first ICQ nickname was Black Rose, and Nightflower is just a variation of it. It's been my username for everything for about three years now. Like I said in the previous thread, I also go by Fleur de Nuit, Nachtblume, Nocturnal Blossom, Nightly Blooming Foliage, NF, and "Yeh Mahn Fah".

I always thought you got your username from the show Will & Grace. My mother watches the show and I saw a few episodes before. One of the main characters named Jack has a website called, justjack.com, so I figured you got it from there.

My username comes directly from my name Vincent. I used to be called Rembrandt over here, but I wanted to go with real name. However, my friend thought Vince sounded "cooler" than Vincent, so I went with Vince. LOL.

My username was originally my AOL Screenname. But anyhoo this is how I got my username. I though Dark sounded nice. Originally, I had Mystic. EJ are the initials of my first and middle name, Emmanuel Juan. And 310 means my boithday, March 10!

Max is what my father wanted to name me. I am Max in my head, that's what I call myself. And when I set a goal for myself I invision Max accomplishing it. Much like Bruce is Batman I am Max. ~confused?~ What JustJack wrote is true of me as well. In the stories I write there is usually a character who is a lot like me. I call him or her the "Max character."

Franklin is my real last name and ironically, it's also the name of the street I work on.

The N is short for "new." When I moved out of my parents house, bought a new computer and opened my own internet account. I changed my URL to signify the end of one era and the beginning of another.

Geezil, my TTTP buddy...

The Geezil episode was Olive's Boithday Presink. Maybe you'll be able to catch it when the new Popeye show appears.

There are mentions of Geezil's other appearances in the cartoons at this post

http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=634&highlight=geezil+popeye

And just yesterday I ordered 2 collections of early Segar Popeye comics that have been ordered from Amazon, one of which should be mailed tomorrow. Thanks for your review, it's good to know I've made wise purchases. :)

As for my username...*drumroll*

it's my real name. Ta-daa!

I always think "NEW Max Franklin"when I read NMaxFranklin. Wasn't that the name you used on the old boards?

Kinda ot...I was curious one day to see if my name came up on Yahoo (it does, for my CDs) so I typed in Calhoun07 to see if it came up. And it does, for toonzone and for animationondvd.com.

Yeah, I was bored.

This question just HAD to be asked...

The name batchik is what the ONE guy i know of at my school who likes comic books calls me. He thought that Batgirl was a bit overdone and started calling me batchik all the time.

I was actually going to call myself Batgirl but found someone else w/ the same name.

And just because I'm bored I'll explain my title as well!

I'm a dancer... times about ten. I've been dancing since I could walk. and my older brother (i refer to him as superbat) says that I'm a bat that dances at night because my ballet classes usually go on until 10 and then i have nothing during the day. I'm an insomniac so often he finds me dancing in my little basement studios at odd hours.

that's my life story for ya'll

*batchik*

Cheerleaders are dancers gone retarded.

Starchild
10-08-2001, 01:30 AM
I was posting in my friend's personal board when I happened to noticed that despite my posting 7 whole messages (heh ^_~) I was still labled a newbie. So, of course, I went crying to my friend, "I'm a newbie!". And he says, "I know! BWAHAHAHAHA!" So I said, "but I dun wanna be a newbie! I wanna be a coolbie! ;_;" So, he agreed to change it, if I agreed to stop crying. "What do you want to be?" Well, that just stumped my poor brain. So many choices, so many things to be. I just couldn't possibly narrow it down to one. So he said, "You can be Starchild." And I said, "Okie...cool." Well, that was just way interesting huh? :D

Like calhoun I think of you as "NewMaxFranklin." Why don't you have the "New" instead of just "N"?

Me: Named myself after the pompously ridiculous and ridiculously pompous Batman villain. Check out my absurdly erudite web-page to see why the name fits.

Joker85
10-08-2001, 09:19 PM
Well, my favorite comic character of all time is the Joker( I blame it on Jack Nicholson)and I was born in 1985, so thats where I got Joker 85. Plus, this was my name at the old Worlds Finest boards.:)

zero zero nine
10-09-2001, 12:57 AM
well, i've always thought being a secret agent would be the coolest thing in the world... so in the style of Bond, i went with the double "O" but i didn't want to bite off the seven... that's been overdone... so i went with zero zero nine :)

G.I= G.I. Joe + D'oh!=Homer's Catchphrase

So Put it together.... You got "G.I. D'oh!"

DR. BELCH
10-09-2001, 12:37 PM
Like I've said before, I wanted something different, something I'm sure no one else would have already. "Belch" came from my great eructational talent (in fact, I've spent some years trying to get a comic book series called The Belch Dimension off the ground, so my handle rather reflects that)...and the title "Dr." reflects that, even as a kid, I wanted to be a doctor (not necessarily a medical one, though). I first used my handle at the now-defunct Helpful Corn board (Daria) Nov 1, 1997. I probably got the talent from my late father, one of the immortal after-dinner belchers. For the record, my younger brother is known for his paint-peeling flatulence, so it makes for a very...interesting family.
I've posted elsewhere as "Nostradamus" and "The Iconoclast"...but by far this handle is my favorite. ;)

Batman's bride

My name came from the fact that I love Batman and really want to be married to him. I know what your thinking, but I'm not hungry?thanks.

-Mrs. Wayne ;)

SuperFunk
10-10-2001, 12:32 PM
I acquired my username to represent funk music and it's culture. Funk has been used in many different styles of music such as blues, R&B, jazz, and of course hip-hop and rap. Funk has even been used in forms of rock music. Since funk is bass-driven and dance oriented, it even promoted several dance techniques. Most of the artists I admire use funk elements in their music. I chose SuperFunk to show how much I like funk and how I consider it as extraordinary.

Bluntman
10-10-2001, 05:35 PM
I chose my screen name as a tribute to my two all time favorite characters, Jay and Silent Bob, a.k.a. Bluntman and Chronic. I'm a big Kevin Smith fan. Plus, the profile ended up making my friends laugh. BONG!!!!!

If posters request a name change, we can usually comply. It's pretty easy, and takes little time. All we do to change it is just tweak your information a bit. I've even changed my name (DickGrayson to Dick Grayson) so it's no real big deal.

Nightwing
10-12-2001, 09:13 PM
Basically, like DG I think "DG" from Batman is an AWESOME character for himself as well as playing off Batman's character. But if you wanna know the further origin of my name it's because I realized I was stupid.

lol. Let me explain. When DG's boards first started I was known as "Nightbat," just something I threw together. But later I thought, hey, there aren't ANY Nightwing type names here at all (DG's handle was "KIDSWB!" before he changed it) so I thought what the heck.

Cuz ya know we always have that little fear how the handle we want will be too generic and so is already taken. I later realized it wasn't the case for me. :)

So I've been ME ever since!

I'd just like the '29' removed from my screen name; I wanted to use just "Lonestarr" when I first applied to another board, but they "claimed" to already have a Lonestarr (I don't think they really do have another). When I first came here, the '29' stuck. Now that it doesn't seem that a Lonestarr exists here, I want to be it.

Email me about it, and I'll change it tomorrow. I'd like to just get an email saying you officially want me to do this (sort of a precautionary measure). Then I'll change it, and email you back telling you I've changed it. Any posts you post before the name change will remain Lonestarr29. One the handle is changed, the new posts will contain the new handle.
