I cannot speak for them, but my father told me that my uncle (his brother) who has a birthday in December gets fewer presents overall because of the closeness between birthday and a holiday.

Hi Barb,

When I was younger, I'd usually get one birthday present that was seperate from my Christmas presents from my parents. When I got into my teens, some of the presents I got were combination Christmas/birthday gifts. I got a portable stereo when I was around 13 or so, and a computer when I was 18.

This year, my gift from Dad and his girlfriend was a Hewlett Packard PSC 1350 (printer/scanner/copier). :)
