Were the New Adventures of Batman ever put on VHS? Are they deleted? Will they be released? Is it possible to get them?
Have searched everywhere and only ever catch vague glimpses of something resembling a deleted line .... any of you guys know anything more??
Maybe I'll have to make do with the short clips on the web and Playstation game ..... ho-hum ..... :(

The only way to get them is thought Columbia House's video program. No episodes of TNBA have been released to video. The only TNBA Batman style show released wasn't even a Batman episode, it was the three part World's Finest episode from Superman.

And they are expensive...

DG's wording is a little confusing there. None of the TNBA episodes have been released on tapes that are available in stores. They have, however been released on vidoe through Columbia House's video library program.

Yeah. They aren't available in retail, although they are available through a prgram at Columbia House.

Like what? I'm a member and haven't had too many problems with them.

Well not too many. Out of like 20 something tapes I've had 5 rejects that need to be sent back. But I haven't had the time to call Columbia House yet, plus I have more tapes coming in at the same time, so those have to be looked over to see if they need to go back. I envy Clayface for having reported his problems already.

While I may not be a member (waiting for them to go on DVD) I've heard that sum people got lucky and haven't had one problem.

there is no way I'd ever pay the prices for those videos from Columbia House. They said they are going to put the shows on DVD, but I have noticed that the only DVDs they have available are already for sale in the stores, and for a cheaper price. Their video libary club is a pain in the *****

I don't know - people keep saying its a pain, but I haven't heard any reasons yet why they think this. I got a couple bad videos from them, but they replace them free of charge with a simple phone call - not really a pain in my opinion - in fact, its easier than if I get a bad video from the store. I just sit and wait for the replacement to show up in my mail.
As far as the prices go, they are a bit steep, but in my opinion well worth it. I had all the episodes taped off of TV, but of course they had all the commercials, bad weather warnings, etc throughout them. And its such a pain to edit out the commercials. I like the convenience (sp?) of having the episodes in a nice commercial free format, and you get great packaging to boot. Well worth the cost to me.

I have not had any problems either. It's been a total pleasure dealing with Columbia House. The videos are great well woth the money. I ocasionally get a tape with an episode I never saw. It's great! I almost wish I waited for the dvd release.

I hope CH puts them on DVD. WHile their $33 DVD price is steep, I can't think of them being more than $30 per DVD, depending on how many episodes are on the DVDs. I'd like to see 8 - 10 eps per DVD, if possible. Man, these eps would be beautiful on DVD...and no SNAPPER CASES!

I would probably subscribe to a series if I still had an interest in VHS tapes, but for now, I am going to be patient for the time when they produce their own DVDs of these shows (in other words, DVDs only they carry! My complaint about the DVDs they have now is that I can get them in the store for less. That's where the price issue comes into play for me).

Yeah, in general, I'm only interested in DVDs too. But, at the time I started the collection, I didn't have a DVD player, and there were no plans or rumors that the series would be coming to DVD. So, I went with the VHS. If and when they ever come out on DVD, I'll just sell my VHS tapes on e-bay - I've sold these tapes for more than I paid for them several times, so it's not like I'd be losing my money.

Outside of the original Batman animated series, they have St Elsewhere, which I would give a leg to have a complete series on DVD (Ok, not a leg, but you get my drift!) but when they want twenty bucks a pop for VHS tapes with only two episodes on them and I can get an entire box set of something like Sex and the City for $35.00 for eighteen episodes, you can see why I have issues with the prices.
If Columbia House gets these shows on DVD and can do six episodes per disc for shows like Cheers and other half hour shows and four episodes per disc for the hour long shows, I am so there.
And for those of you who live over the pond from the United States, I just have one question: aren't TV shows released in season sets more readilly there? I had heard that even years before DVDs came out that in Europe and in other parts of the world, shows like Star Trek Voyager and Deep Space Nine and others were coming out on VHS before they ever showed up here in the states. It struck me that while you all may not have access to Columbia House, the availability of these shows on tape would make up for it. With the advent of DVD, do you all see more TV series than we do on DVD?

Hey there Fish! Solidarity!! Hehe, I love it!! Four of us against the might of the USA .... it might work!!
Any of you managed to get your hands on TNBA elsewhere? I've tried most resources online but, as you say, they either don't have it or don't ship overseas.
CN UK did show some of TNBA a while back. Here's hoping they repeat it.
(BTW, what's BB called where you are? Is it 'Batman of The Future' like it is here?)
Calhoun, in answer to your query; yes, we do tend to get VHS releases of TV series before you guys. Don't know why except that in some cases (Buffy, STDS9 and ST:Voyager in particular) it's the only way to view the programme unedited :( .They will insist on putting adult material on before the 'watershed' and then cutting out the juicy bits  . And also you can buy episodes that have not been shown on TV yet. As for DVD it does seem that we're getting series' on DVD before you guys (I know many things we can buy in stores aren't available at places like amazon.com).
Wahey, Fish, it looks like there might be an advantage being this side of the pond!!

Thanks for the info! Do you know if any of those releases you're seeing in the stores that aren't at amazon.com happen to be region 2 coded or are there any DVDs without the region coding or any region 1 releases? I only have a region 1 player, but can play DVDs that aren't region coded at all.

Dude, don't start me on the regions path or it'll get messy!! I hate all that pants about not being able to play US DVDs over here - they're so much cheaper for you guys (even with postage to here). They've stopped selling multi-region players over here ... and of course the chipped ones won't play some WB DVDs ..... grrrr ... I'll stop now!!
All the DVDs from the UK will be region 2.:(

I find that whole "region" thing idiotic. i mean, it's just so pointless and dumb. It's just so they can make a little extra green, but it is annoying. There are a few rare perks, like some regions getting DVDs or special DVDs first.

Region coding exists so that if a new movie is released here (we will use Shrek as an example, tho I don't know if this is going to be applicable) on DVD and it has yet to hit the theaters in foriegn marekts, people in the foriegn market's can't get a hold of the DVD and thus ruin the movie's chances to make money in that foreign country. So if Shrek get's put on DVD here before it goes to a theater in some other country, the region coding makes sense.
Region coding TV shows on DVD in Japan and in the UK and in Eurpoe and thus making it hard for Americans to enjoy them only ensures that they will be able to make more money off of syndication rights here, as they delay the release of these shows on DVD in the States for that reason.
Region coding is clearly about money, maximizing the profits that the studio can make off of any given project. What I really don't understand is why they have to put region coding on movies that have already had a healthy theatrical release world wide (oh, let's use Men in Black here!) or different region coding for the same movies released at the same time across both ponds (Mask of Zorro, which had bonus features in Region 2 where as Region 1's was bare bones). Region coding EVERYTHING becomes pointless, invalidating the reasons for region coding the movie companies gave us (as stated above) when they first started this.
There are region 2 titles I would buy in a minute if they weren't region coded at all. And they aren't movies that we haven't seen here, or TV shows that are still in syndication (Dr. Who, for instance), and I really don't get region coding in those instances.
If I can buy a CD from Japan or Australia or Europe or whereever and play it in my CD player in America, I believe I have every right to buy a DVD whereever I want and to beable to play it in my DVD player in America.
There are enough region 2 titles I would like to get that I actually contemplated ordering a region 2 DVD player from over seas, but I don't know if the electrical plugs would work in the States. Don't they use DC and America uses AC? I don't know if a region 2 player imported would work for me.
