I was just wondering, if JL does really well in the ratings (which i'm certain that it will), do you think CN might order an animated movie? I think that is very possible, since CN jumped the gun with Samurai Jack and ordered a film. What do you guys think?
See ya!

That's true, Cartoon Network does seem to treat their original material much better than Kid's WB, so I'd say it's entirely possible. Not a done deal by any means, but possible. Maybe if the Samauri Jack movie does well?

I would be pretty surprised if, somewhere down the road, we DIDN'T see a JL movie. I didn' know a Samurai Jack movie was being made, though. Oh man, wouldn't it be aweomse if we saw a JL movie get a theatrical release?!?

Maybe take this season to lead up to a movie, kinda X-Files, but it could work. Maybe the JL vs. Darksied...

I am sure it would lead to a movie. At least some direct to video movies. After all, look at all the Batman ones we got (and will get!) so it's logical to think Timm has dtv movies in mind for JL.

Well, we got Mask of the Phantasm for BTAS, so it certainly is a possibility. Also, we will be seeing a PPG movie as well as probably the SJ movie, and there was Dexter's Ego Trip DTV, so I am hopeful for at least a DTV. They would have to do something really special since each story will be at least 1 hr. anyways.

I think Timm said that'd be in season two. Those guys seem to be big on making their movies real events (Subzero notwithstanding, that was a long episode), from the commentary on the ROTJ DVD. So what could be a JL event? Well, Tower of Bable comes to mind...or something original, whatever.

I am confident it would be something original! And great and sprawling and cosmic and important!

I think they could do a "Crisis on Infinite Earths" type movie. THAT would be spectacular

well, the season finale and the series' piot episode are both 3 parters. that's around 90 minutes each. those are the lengths of the other animated movies timm etc. has released. i am confident at least the 90 minute piot episode will be released on video/dvd much like the batman beyond, world's finest and superman pilot were. i think a dvd with all sorts of goodies would please many. the format would definitely do the characters justice. (i apologize for that.)

"Cartoon Network does treat their material better than the WB"
I would agree with you on this if not for one thing. The hacking of the intros.
Why, *WHY*?! Do we have to have a lame Toonami technotrack and sounds bites?
Hell theres a new petetion for the gang to undertake. Save the damn TAS intros!

CN is expecting JL to be a monster hit, and are actually real close to ordering another season of episodes. With 26 episodes for first season, and a possible 26 for next - we could be seeing a nice long series, possibly the longest of all the animated shows! I am pretty sure that a DTV will eventually come. WB is already prepping the pilot for release on DVD, so don't be suprised.

Toonami's the only block on the network that does this and as the production team behind Toonami has said they feel that they can create better openings than the shows originals.
And I'm inclined to agree with them to an extent. Their versions are usually so much better than many of the openings that many animes are given for American broadcast (the only openings they often have the rights to). Then there are some of the original openings, sweet mercy the original opening to MSG has me busting a gut on the floor, while the Toonami opening was probably one of their best.
For their credit every time they're run BTAS they left in the original opening after they ran their own.

Same with Superman. It's only been Batman Beyond that they've screwed with.
