Because I have nothing else to talk about, I'll bring these up.
Does anyone here like the Cartoon Network Groovies? I love em!
I like "Circles" and the one with Atom Ant. I also like the one with Porky Pig. That's one of my favorites. What about you guys?

I like the "Groovies" too. Although the Powerpuff Girls music video (the live action one) is played WAAAAY too often for me. I also enjoy the "Shorties", the funniest is the Pixie and Dixie one.

Hey Jon, that Shortie is "Harasscat", I love it too. I like the Groovies also, my favorites are Pork Jam, Circles, Rollin', the Atom Ant one, and Mars Forever.

Is every day, like, ritualistically?:D

I don't like the way they show those things. I hardly ever see the Atom Ant one. The most frequently airing ones are The Powerpuff Girls son, The Signal in the Sky amd Pork Jam. I gotta buy some blank tapes so I can get a collection started again. i just moved to Edwardsville from Chicago less than a year ago and I left all of my tapes at the old place. My tapes were sooo funny. I took clips from various channels. I would make such a good editor. I don't need to walk around in circles! Walk around in circles. Walk around in circles. Walk around now.

I think "Circles" is the best one. I also like "Pink Martini", that Pepe Le Pew one. "Mars Forever" is pretty good, but odd...clips of Bugs singing "Fiddle Dee Di", with Stalling samples. I don't like that Elmer one....it's boring.

Here are the Groovies and Shorties that I especially well:
- Atom Ant
- Mars Forever
- Circles
- Rolling
- the Josie & the Pussycats one where they do all types of musical genres
- the Jabberjaw one that takes place on a lunch box
- the El Kabong one with the Day of the Dead imagery
- Harasscat
I've never seen Pork Jam! Believe it or don't!

I can't believe I forgot about Josie and the Pussycats! And Rolling, with Betty Boop! I must be losing my mind! Pork Jam has one of the nicest drum rolls a cartoon has ever been attached to. You're missing out on a good one.

Is there any time of day or program that Pork Jam is shown fairly often? Like how the Powerpuff Girls groovie seems to be shown after the late Acme Hour?
Cartoon Network ought to release these on video/DVD. It would be great for parties! (Did I just give everyone an idea of how depressing my parties are?)

That would be cool, then I could watch them whenever I want,. I really like them all (I forgot the Jose and Jabberjaw ones), except for "Thanks A Latte".

Oh that can't be THAT bad, at least not as bad as mine:D

i think most are very well,
but the PpG one need to run less.
also rolling is getting alittle overplayed with Porky one.
i love to see the Jocie one and Circles, i think those are the
best ones on CN.
the Jocie one seem to go withe the recent movie reclice(sp)
the CN Grovies remind me of the orginal D tv that showed on Disney thru 1990, new ones, using current and classic music.
also HB did this when they had there Sunday morning show on
Syndication during the 1986 season and thru 1988, with the Paw paw bears. (enjoyed this show, but its never played anymore on CN, favoring the flat storylines of there CC shows), the one i remeber from the HB tv was "i Just want to Celebrate" that had yogi Bear and the ark, and "every Breath you take"
COME ON WB, AND DISNEY, WE WANT ARE HBTV AND OUR DTV!!
classic and current music to WB toons would be great also.
Disny can make more DTVs using there animation that was made after 1984, there are alot of songs that would be great DtV, example would be "magic Carpet ride" For WB toon for a WBTV, "Born to be Wild"
COME ON WB, HB, AND DISNEY, give is our Cartoon Videos, with classic and current music!!!

I remember those as well! (Matter of fact, I could buy two used DTV tapes right now at a nearby store) I'll never forget the H-B ones that you're talking about that had THE JETSONS grooving to Bob Seger's "Rock N Roll" and another one they used was Creedance Clearwater Revival's "Bad moon rising". Even Ralph Bakshi's NEW ADVENTURES OF MIGHTY MOUSE had a few episodes where they used vintage MM toons accompanied by oldies. I'm not sure, but I believe they were "The Loco-motion" and "Why do fools fall in love?".
I agree with you, I'd love to see these again as well as brand new ones.

PlopKat:
I used to see the Pork Jam Groovie quite a bit after 1-hour shows like Bugs and Daffy, Late Nite Black & White or the Acme Hour. Most half-hour shows end pretty much on-time, so "Groovies" and "Shorties" are used to fill out hours that end early. If, for example, an hour-long Bugs and Daffy airs 6 cartoons, there usually are a few minutes left over before CN starts the commercials between shows. Also some were even used as fillers in the middle of the 4-hour Looney Tunes (Bugs and Daffy) and even some marathons. So keep checking between 10 minutes till and 5 minutes till the top of the hour on such shows to see if they end early -- sooner or later "Pork Jam" (which by the way is pretty short, maybe only about a minute and a half long) will probably show up.

P.S. I know there have been "Groovies" for Elmer, Porky, Pepe, and Marvin, but have there ever been any to feature Bugs, Daffy, Tweety, Sylvester, the Road Runner, Yosemite Sam, or Foghorn Leghorn?
