It's Movie Time Again Gang, And It's A New One. And It's Osmosis Jones, The Inspiration for the Kids WB Show "Ozzy And Drix". Here's the synopsis:
Frank Detorri is not a healthy guy. He knows it, his young daughter Shane and her teacher Mrs. Boyd know it, his buddy Bob knows it - pretty much anyone who looks at Frank know he's no fitness poster boy. Frank eats junk food, abstains from exercise and treats his body like anything but a temple, particularly since the death of his wife, Shane's mother. This unhealthy approach to life makes the inside of Frank's body a bacterial battleground that festers until the day he invokes the "ten-second" rule** on a hard-boiled egg he scoops off the ground at the zoo where he works. As he opens his mouth to ingest the egg, we follow right along, travelling down into his swampy insides to discover... The City of Frank: a pulsing, organic living metropolis that is home to an entire society of characters - cops, crooks, government officials, deadbeats, villains, and femme fatales. Frank's got it all, and he's got it bad. Fortunately for Frank, one of his internal inhabitants is Osmosis Jones, a young white blood cell and an officer of the FrankPD. Jones sees an opportunity to make good on his troubled past when he senses the stirrings of a fatal illness spreading through Frank - a villainous virus that goes by the name of Thrax. But to bust Thrax, Jones will have to bypass Mayor Phlemming, a fat-cat brain cell who gives the citizens of the City of Frank what they want, not necessarily what's good for them.
Will it be uncut like "The Iron Giant" or will it have the TV-Y7 rating on it? I don't know, but I hope the former and not the later. Anyway, read and review it.

I think it will be TV-PG, but hopefully it will be uncut. Since OJ is a hybrid of animation and live action, I wonder if other movies with animation and live action will come as well(Space Jam, Looney Tunes: Back In Action)?

I've seen that movie before. It's pretty good. Drax's design was so cool. The animated spin-off series was okay but I really hate it when they cheated on the animation.
I'm really glad at CN's choice of movies. I've never seen Osmosis Jones and have been wanting to see it. I have seen the series so if it's better than that than it should be a good one. :p

From what I remember from the trailers of the movie and the previews I've seen on CN I have to agree with you. I like the movie's animation better.

I'm thinking the same thing, if they did it would have to be these two movies and I think they would work well on CN. Here's to hoping. :D

That TV-PG-V is sure there for a looong time. Maybe it's for the live action part of it?

It's because the content may shock viewers but they don't want to run a disclaimer, so they have the rating on for the whole movie.
Plus it gets viewers used to the concept of TV-PG in primetime.

Rating still on...
And I think they just muted some dialogue.

Nothing's muted. I don't think they have access to the individual channels to mute only the voices and not the music.
As far as I recall, there's very little dialogue in the movie that exceeds Iron Giant's content.

I'm surprised by the lack of promotion CN gave this movie.
Except in the "New Fridays" commercials, they haven't done anything to promote this.
Wonder why.

There goes the "D word". At least it wasn't muted.

Oh man, I missed it. I wonder if it'll be unedited this weekend.

Hey, a Kid Rock and Joe C. Cameo.
I think this was Joe C's last role before his death.

Viacom has Space Jam (aired on VH1). No, I don't know why Viacom has an AOLTW movie, or why they aired it on VH1.

You Play The Good White Blood Cell Cop, I'll Play The Bad 24 Hour Germ Pill Cop, But Let's Both Watch The Osmosis Jones Movie Review.
This is a pretty good movie, and like most, better then the series it spawned. Although Jeff Bennett is better at playing Drix then David Hyde Pierce in my honest opinion. Rock is perfect in the role of Osmosis Jones, the cop everyone hates because of his past but then ends up saving everyone's gluttius maximus (that's your butthole) from the evil fever Thrax. So what's the bad? Some predictable parts, some VERY contrived convieances, most of the live action grossness, and the body related humor got tiring after a while. I liked Ozzy/Drix relationship though. Better then the T.V series. I give this a B+/B overall.
Intresting Notes.
1. This is not the longest time on show that there have been live action momenths on CN. The record is still held by SGC2C's "Table Read".
2. Dosen't anyone find it weird that Ozzy and Drix isn't coming to CN but Mucha Lucha is if they can air the movie here?
3. This movie was unedited, but the PG-V function stayed on the screen the entire time. The V came because of Thrax, who.... well he's a pretty ruthless guy. Let's leave it at that.
OJ Thoughts:
I really liked this movie, I thought it was well made and pretty funny.
I know remember why I hadn't seen it since it had come out, Bill Murray. OMG, he was really nasty in this movie, I know he's supposed to be sick and all that but I could barely watch it when the movie went to him and the live action parts. Actually some of the times during live action I watched the end of Toy Story 2.
I was almost going to go WTF happened to the sleazy mayor!! But then I saw the end and I thought that was fitting way to say goodbye to him.
Ozzy/Drix show should come to CN. I'd like to see it happen.
Overall an A-. ONly because of Bill Murray kept me from giving it an A+, I liked the characters, story, and the voices they picked. I hope CN keeps bringing the movies. :)

I think it was just a glitch. Iron Giant was TV-PG V but didn't have the rating up the entire movie. CN's had a few glitches with their stuff. During an entire episode of Big O there was no [adult swim] logo in the corner. And at one point during Futurama, the Cartoon Network logo was on half way through. And sometimes the rating never came up at all.

It couldn't have been a glitch, because the rating turned off for each commercial, and then returned after the commercials.

There was no Constant TV-PG-V in "The Iron Giant" due to the fact that because of the marathons, everyone knows what's that rated. This was just to show the kiddies who didn't know about Osmosis Jones that there may not be some content there moms want them to see.

Short review:
Animation: Entertaining
Live-action: Bleh
Longer review:
"Osmosis Jones" is one of those movies that I can't quite decide on. On one hand, it has some very good moments that are both clever and funny. On the other hand, those moments are spoiled by some incredibly dull moments. Not surprisingly, the animated parts of the movie were far better than the live-action bits.
Good: Very well-designed jokes in the animation buts. Very rarely did they resort to cheap puns and eye-rolling cliches; instead they made the body a living breathing world that was both believable and funny.A pimple being a new social club for bacteria? Talking about going to the kidneys to see the Stones before they pass? Jobs of hair dwellers being moved from the head to the back? Lawyers living in hemmoroids? Ingenious. There were some moments where the pacing was a little off, but overall the animated bits were well-done. Which is more than I can say for...
Bad: the live-action bits. Without the world built upon the animation parts, the live-action bits resorted to cheap bodily-function skits and jokes I could see coming a mile away. The chemistry between the voice-actors felt weak, and some of the moments felt far too contrived.
Overall, there were some very good moments spoiled by some really bland ones. Considering it's on Cartoon Network, it's kinda ironic that it's a movie that felt better done in the animation sequences than the live-action bits...okay, maybe it's not ironic. Who cares? It's a movie that's fun to watch, but I won't go out of my way to see it. Put this one up with "Titan A.E".

(how high was the mountain of money they gave him act in this piece of crap?)

Haven't you learned by now Thrax? Matt Wilson ALWAYS knows something we don't. It part of his mystique. Also, how did you like working in Osmosis Jones as the Villian Thrax? Did it suck to "die" in that sample of alcohol? What was your inspiration for the role? Did you really base your user name because of this guy? Why am I asking you all of these questions?

Well, if thats the case, then it should be on constantly during Adult Swim.
I guess we'll find out later this afternoon when they show it again.

Why would that be? The CCF block isn't intended to be an adult demographic, whereas Adult Swim is. CN also gets around that by running the disclaimers during adult swim. So my guess whould be that CN is going to run the exact same thing that aired last night with the PG-V rating.
Ok movie. Too bad Bill Murray mailed it in on the performance. But at least he got paid.

Anyone know how much it cost to make this movie?
IMDB.com says $75,000,000
While BoxofficeMojo.com says it only got a total gross of $13,596,911.
Thats a pretty big bomb if true....how would they have enough confidence to make a series out of this movie with a return like that?

I wonder if other movies with animation and live action will come as well(Space Jam, Looney Tunes: Back In Action)?
Space Jam: no friggin' way.
LT: BIA: Maybe
Who Framed Roger Rabbit: That's gonna take some thinking, since it is a Disney movie, but it doesn't have any of Disney's wholesomeness (and with a character like Jessica Rabbit, you'd agree)
Also, how did you like working in Osmosis Jones as the Villian Thrax? Did it suck to "die" in that sample of alcohol? What was your inspiration for the role? Did you really base your user name because of this guy?
Excuse me, Ms. DianaGohan, but Thrax (Adam) got his name from the heavy metal band Anthrax. He used to be AdamXS.

First time I saw this movie, and thought it had some OK parts, but didn't seem much to get excited about (let alone spin off into a still-unseen-by-me TV series). Liked: William Shatner as the "mayor", the "voice override" bits, the "dangling thing" joke (which I guess was considered "acceptable" to air in primetime on CCF). Disliked: some of the bodily function jokes (probably why my opinion of this film's tepid/I held off on seeing it this long---I'm sick of seeing bodily function jokes in cartoons), the live-action parts.

I remeber seeing traliers for Osmosis Jones in the summer of 2001.It to me was such an original concept that I had to see it, Unfortunatly my theatre did'nt get it.Thankfully I got it on DVD with my DVD player last Christmas. So here is my review. First a quick nitpick, the CNF sowing of this movie in Full-Screen to me is unforgivable some of the characters are missing out of the frame or a piece of animation is gone, okay end rant. Now onto the movie itself. Osmosis Jones is a movie that has it's high points and low points I believe we can alla gree on that. In the City Of Frank is where a majority of the film's action and character development takes place. While outside we are treated to the Farelly brother's style of writing those moments are when the movie suffers. The improvisation between the voice actors is much more believable then the improvisation between the live-action actors. Also Osmosis Jones is such an increbile animated movie to look at I have to give it an B+.

I have to agree with everyone who said animated parts good live action parts not so good. I liked Chris Rock as Osmosis Jones and David Hyde Pierce was ok as Drix but I didn't really like Laurence Fishburne as Thrax.

Well I guess Chris Rock and Bill Murray made a few Million out of this tragity if they did the smart thing and not get paied in % at the Box Office.
I bet the gross factor of the live action parts probably kept most of an audience away.

thats because Warner Bros. retards can't market an animated movie. look at their record -
Cats Don't Dance - bombed
Iron Giant - almost broke even
Powerpuff Girls Movie - broke even
Quest For Camelot - bombed
Back in Action - BOMBED HORRIBLY
only Space Jam was a success. there's probably more movies ive forgotten

Heh, but why in the world would they decide to make a series out of the movie if it bombed?
Maybe it's just me...but it doesn't seem like the smartest Idea ever.
I do like this movie. I'm just curious as to why there's a series of a movie that bombed pretty big.
Because if I remember correctly the movie was "Osmosis Jones starring Bill Murray." He was the focus of their campaign for the movie.
Probably test groups liked the animation by itself and they figured it would be worth the try.

I remember the trailers and commercials for this movie, and it made it look stupid and gross. It didn't focus on the really funny jokes (the idiots chose "Why do you it haaaard" over the "dangling thing gag") and was mostly about Bill Murray eating disgisting things.
I myself assumed it was another stupid and gross kids movie with "Rugrats"-like toilet humor. But it was fairly clever. Yet the WB never showed that in their promotions.

Oh yes, that "why you hit so haaaard!" bit isn't even funny to begin with, it's just like any ordinary line for chris rock.
Anyways, I love the animation in this movie. I usually can't stand all the flailing and bouncing and jiggling in animated movies these days but it made sense for characters made of endoplasm. I liked all the alien looking germs, the concept of the snitchy flu shot, and thrax is a pretty badassed villain, as you'de expect from an anthropomorphis...is..ization.. ( :( ) of anthrax.
