The 1930's and 1940's. End of story.

Here's my pitch for the 60's toons

Unique pairings: such as Daffy and Speedy, and new characters such as Cool Cat

Backgrounds: More of a clean, postmodernist look with more color

Story line: simple, derivative and slapstic heavy

I can't get there on the music and so I won't even try.

Do they beat the classics of the 40's and 50's?
Probably not but I think the 60's toons are vastly under-rated

If that meant just the ones made before the changeover to DePatie-Freleng from what was left of Termite Terrace, I'd agree in a second. But since your view also seems to cover all of the Daffy/Speedy series and the post-Chuck Jones Road Runner shorts, it's not so easy to nod. (Forgetting poor R--- L------, who's already been dissed to the limit by me and a bunch of other folk elsewhere in the Forums, I'll at least allow that Daffy/Speedy was a workable idea in a few shorts. Trouble is, the body of 'em made it impossible to remember which ones were the good ones (as I still can't do)! (Heavy sigh...)

Well, I voted for 30's 40's, but if I had another choice, I would vote for 40's &50's. I do like McKimsons' work, art, in the late 30's & early 40's. He is one of my favorite artist.
