When Night Gathers

It's about time I showed another piece of art. This time I decided to brush up on my skills in Painter, the line art in this picture is not mine, I only did the coloring. I don't really like the way the sky came out but its nice, and please try to ignore the fact that despite the roaring fire in front of the guys face there is almost no shading on him, I kinda forgot that once I was done and I'm to tired to go fix it right now http://forums.toonzone.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif.

Oh and in case you're wondering what its a picture of. It's from the series of books called, A Song of Ice and Fire (Which I recommend to everyone by the way) The two people in it are Jon Snow(The background) and Qhorin Halfhand (Foreground) and of course the direwolf Ghost. They're both part of the Nights watch which is why they're wearing black clothes. Though once again I forgot that and ended up coloring Qhorin's stuff blueish. Ok now on to the Picture.

Very nice Tallaid, the blend of dark colours looks great against the fire's brightness and the way the shadows have fallen on the cloaks really makes them look soft too :)

I'm useless at colouring with anything other than pencils so I really think this is a great effort. I know what you mean about the lack of shadows from the fire but as you say you can always fix that later, it doesn't detract anything from the picture for me at all. Yep, Very nice colouring indeed. :)

I really like how the fire turned out, with the mixed reds, oranges, and yellows. The older man's face looks good, with all the detailed linework around the eyes and cheeks. And the wolf...or dog...aww! It reminds me of my dog. Very cute. :D
