There are only four or so coming out that I am really interested in:
From Hell. Alan Moore's graphic novel is an experience and a half to read, and quite engrossing. I somehow doubt the movie will do it full justice, but I know it will still be good.
KPAX. For some reason, the title of this movie sounds like a television station's call letters that is affiliated with the PAX network. Despite the lame name, I think this looks like it could be pretty good.
Mulholland Drive. David Lynch's new movie. Need I say more?
Monsters INC. If any of you have to question seeing that one, shame on you!

You forget probably one of the most anitcipated movies of the year (myself, I've probably been waiting 3 years for)
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
This movie looks to be great. I can't wait 'til December.
I'm also looking forward to From Hell. After I see the flick I'm gonna get the trade. I've been told that it would be a better movie viewing experience, because the trade tells you who Jack is at the beginning, but it's part of the mystery of the movie.
Monsters, Inc I'm gonna see. And I'm not too sure about KPAX.
Can you tell me anything about Mulholland Drive?

And, when May rolls around..I'll probably be seeing Episode2(that Star Wars thing?). But, mostly because Christopher Walkin is in it! that guy rules...

That's why a lot of good movies go unnoticed...
Mulholland Drive, by the way, is the newest David Lynch effort. Probably go limited release instead of wide.
From Hell should be out in theatres soon. I heard it doesn't quite measure up to the comic, but it's a fairly good movie unto itself.

1. LOTR! Need I explain? I've already got a spot among my top 5 favorite movies for it. High expectations you think?
2. Training Day, I think this looks cool, hopefully i'll be able to see this, this weekend. If I do, I'll let you all know how it was.
3. Monsters, Inc., this looks hilarious. I love the commercial spot, where the little one eyed monster is like "Oh sure, blame it on the monster... with ONE EYE!" That looks great.
Does anyone know what Iron Monkey is about? The fight scenes look cool, but I'm not so sure about it.
I havent heard about From Hell or Mulholland Drive, I just read a brief synopsis about them, and they sound cool though, especially Mulholland Drive. Has any advertising started for them?

is it just me or does "monsters inc" seem like a rip off of "ahhhh! real monsters"? i may be jumping to conclusions, but both are about a company or organization of monsters who scare kids. hmmm, what do you think, a coincidence or not?

It was supposed to be David Lynch's new TV series on ABC. However, ABC decided not to pick it up, but a French movie company gave it new life. Lynch filmed a new ending, and also some other new scenes that tied up loose ends that were left open in the series pilot, and now we get to see his work once and for all. It's a crime drama.
The premise of the movie: A woman is abandoned on Mulholland Drive, following a car accident, suffering from amnesia. She makes her way to an apartment where she meets an aspiring actress who helps her put the pieces of her life, and the mystery of it all, back together. Elsewhere, other stories and characters weave into this ensemble piece, including a director with mobster problems, and a man whose dream comes true...

I thought we were just talking about this year. If we're including next year too, then I'd have add:
Episode II
Star Trek X
Spiderman
So no one else is looking forward to The One? I haven't seen many of Jet Li's movies, actually, but The One looks like its going to be great. It's got an interesting story idea and Jet Li's incredible abilities are going to be enhanced by what looks like a Matrix-style of action sequences. From the trailers, The One looks incredible.

The One, Iron Monkey, From Hell, Monsters Inc., Shallow Hal (made in me home town!!!), and Ghost World finally got to the theaters around here, so I want to go and see it...

I'm also looking forward to:
Blade 2- Since I heard Donnie Yen (soon-to-be of Iron Monkey fame) will be appearing in and choreographing fights for it.
Dagon- a fishy horror flick, set on a remote warf town inhabited by mutant, fish-people.
The next movie John Cusack co-writes and stars in. I don't know about Serendipity, but the movies Cusack has a hand in producing are great: High Fidelity/Grosse Point Blank. I've heard tell of a sequel for GPB. If it's true I'd be dissapointed that he's making a sequel. But, if it's great I'll forgive him. I can only assume he's doing these Hollywoodie movies to get capital for his off-beat, quirky movies.
The next REAL Jackie Chan movie He's going to put his Rush Hour clout to good use and make and apply an American budget to his style of filmaking. Think: Rumble in the Bronx with a Scwratzeneggar budget.
Movies that need to be burnt black and stomped into grains of ash:
Ocean's Eleven- remake of old "rat pack" heist movie with George Clooney, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt. I'm not kidding. I've seen the trailer.

Actually, Ocean's Eleven sound like it might be alright. If it's a remake of the movie I think it is, it'll be really good. BTW, anybody heard rumors about Chan and Li doing a movie together?....

I've read he's working with Spielberg on a movie called The Tuxedo. I've also read Jennifer Love Hewitt is co-starring. I'm not exactly sure what it's about, but I think it's more of a step in the drama world and out of the martial arts world.
He's also working on Shanghai Knights, sequel to Shanghai Noon.
There was another one I think, but made for Hong Kong.
I'm not sure when these are expected out.

I hadn't heard that, but that would be incredible. I'm not sure if that would work, though. Chan doesn't care much for violence, which is why his movies are more humorous. Li's, on the other hand, can be quite violent.

I don't think there's any truth to this. The rumor has been circulating for a long time. Chan isnt the type to work with someone with Li's exposure. He tends to work with his old friends, using people he's known for a while to costar with him over and over.
He turned down a chance to costar with Van Damme at the height of Van Damme's popularity. I think because Jackie likes to have complete control over a production he doesn't want another "star" around. Which makes sense to me.
Also, as DarkAngel mentioned, Li makes more violent, hard-nosed movies, while Jackie stays away from graphic violence and dark sbject matter.

From what I've seen so far, I'm looking forward to seeing:
1. Spiderman. Need I explain this one?
2. Episode II. It CAN'T be as bad as Episode I, can it?
3. The One. Jet Li's in it. I'm there.
4. Iron Monkey. Looks really cool.
5. From Hell. If it's half as good as Alan Moore's GN, it'll be worth it.
6. Whatever Jackie Chan does next. Enjoying him while I can. Too bad it took him so long to make it here.
7. X-Men 2. If they fix the flaws from the first one, it will be cool.
8. Serendipity. It's John Cusack and Jeremy Piven, what more do you need?
9. Kevin Smith's next project. Again, do I need to explain?
10. KPAX. It looks so inticing. Plus, it's got Kevin Spacy.

It's titled "Jersey Girl," and will be dealing with fatherhood. That's about all that's known at this point.
