View Full Version : The new ToonHeads episodes!!!
Hi folks!
I thought you would want to be the FIRST to know the 13 new ToonHeads episodes.
This list is "tentative" and it MIGHT change, but here goes...
Show #34 - The Evolution of Elmer Fudd (One Hour)
Show #35 - The Early Works of Hanna & Barbera (One Hour)
Show #36 - Moon Toons
Show #37 - The Great Controversy of 1946
Show #38 - Tasmanian Devil
Show #39 - The Early Works of Friz Freleng
Show #40 - Before Bedrock
Show #41 - Night at the Opera
Show #42 - Sufferin' Sucatash!
Show #43 - Beaky Buzzard
Show #44 - Cartoon News Reels
Show #45 - Blame It on The Stork! or Baby Boom Toons (Title for this show hasn't been decide yet.)
Show #46 - Tish Tash (One Hour)
As soon as I finish writing and producing these 13 new episodes, I will start working on 13 more shows.
I will try to incorporate some of your suggestions in the next thirteen (#47-#59) ToonHeads shows.
I've really been working hard on doing a lot of research on each of the new shows.
Hope you folks like'em!!!

Hey GAK,
Are these Toonheads episodes going to feature 100% uncut versions of cartoons usually edited on other programs on CN?

--epidode #37's title. Anything that says "controversy" is bound to be interesting.
Perhaps something on the Avery-Schlesinger split would make an interesting show...much speculation in a thread on that recently (though maybe no one really knows all the details, my theory is that Leon curbed Tex's style once too often and cutting the ending of one of his carttons was the final blow). Or something on Leon's replacement, Ed Selzer (Chuck Jones was particularly venomous about him, calling him incompetent, saying he looked like Mr. Magoo, and angry because he insulted Pepe Le Pew and then up and happily grabbed the award for one of his shorts).

As that Judge Mills Lane would say:
"Bring it on!!!!":D

Most likely the "controversy" of 1946 would involve "Rhaposdy Rabbit" and "The Cat Concerto." As for what the third cartoon would be, GAK can probably answer that (my personal choise would be the apparent Jim Tyer-Bill Tytla artistic differences over the 1946 Popeye cartoon "Rocket To Mars," but that problem is just speculation and is proably even a little too obscure for "Toonheads")

In the next 13, please add Bosko or Buddy! I have never seen either!

Hopefully, GAK will provide us with Frank Tashlin's first
and only cartoon for Van Beuren, "Hook & Ladder Hokum"
in episode #46

Ohhhhhhh, I can't wait for these! We'll have quite a bit to talk about here once those new Toonheads and the Classic Popeye show are launched.

Soooo many possibilities here...could the Hanna/Barbera ep. include stories featuring a certain neglected T&J character? Could we see some of Fleischer's Stone Age cartoons in "Before Bedrock"?
This and the Popeye show are huge steps up for classic cartoons at CN. Nice to see the folks there are giving us some hope during these PC days.

That sounds great! I'll be glued to the TV...gee, it's the first time anything's come down the pike on TV that I've wanted to sit down and watch for a long time. Thanks for your willingness to listen to suggestions, and know that you are much appreciated!

What is wrong with 'Swing Social"? I've heard of it but not in detail. I have a vague idea because of the title.

I think that's the cartoon with the black fish on Sunday. It's banned since the fish are black steriotypes.

Jack's right about the black stereotypes being the issue.
If you'd like to see a few images snapped from it, then pick this! (http://imagep.webphotos.iwon.com//1000013852/1000013852_1052001111139PM0.9709131.jpg)

Please excuse my editing up there, J., and, if you (or another regular) would be so kind, explain just what Tyer and Tytla were at loggerheads about over that cartoon? That's an entirely new subject Out Here. Thanks.
