HOLA!!
Tonight there's yet another new episode of South Park. Only ttwo more episodes till my sig changes. Here's the synopsis for "Raisins":
"Wendy breaks up with Stan because he never spends any time with her. To cheer him up, the boys take him to "Raisins," a local restaurant known for its cheap food and hot girls. Later, as Stan tries desperately to win Wendy back, Butters believes he's found the girl of his dreams."
Ah, More Butters=More Gold.
Enjoy!!

I wish I could enjoy it the way you guys could. You see, you'll think of me as irrational and stupid for this, but....I'm afraid I'll hate this episode because of the Stan/Wendy breaking up plotline because I think there's a 95% chance they'll break up for good here, and it makes me unhappy because I'm a big fan of that couple. The irrational part comes from the fact that I'm a fan of that couple not from the show, but from me writing a lot of fanfictions with them together. I'm a fanfic author that's written a lot of fanfics on South Park and posted them on fanfiction.net under the name robert3, and my most often used plot in those fics is having Stan and Wendy together as a closer couple than they are on the show, Stan's stopped vomiting and gotten to kiss her and everything. I love writing those stories and I'm very proud of them, using Stan and Wendy as a close couple has resulted in some of my best fanfiction work ever. And to likely have the exact opposite happen on TV tonight...well, maybe it bothers me more than it should but it still would bother me. Therefore, I can't watch the show with an open mind like you can, because I've grown to really like the thought of Stan and Wendy together and since it's very likely that they're gonna break up that couple on the show tonight, I won't be that happy if that's the case and I'll likely be comparing the episode to my fics all night[and even if they get back together, I may be annoyed because I might be thinking that I could have done a scene like that better]Sounds stupid, but it's how I feel, and it's why I may not like this episode as much as you do, because I'm a big Stan/Wendy fan thanks to the many fanfics I've written about them[I didn't even pay attention to them at all as a couple before I wrote them, and now I'm their biggest fan because of my fics, go figure]
But the bright spot is that if any character can overcome that stuff and make the episode enjoyable in some way for me, Butters can. I expect him to be the shining star here and help me combat my likely dislike for the Stan/Wendy stuff tonight. Either way it'll be a, well, emotional episode for me in any case, and I envy you for being able to enjoy it in a normal way, unlike me. So you enjoy the episode and if I have any comments on it, it'll be motivated by my Stan/Wendy bias and my potential unhappiness that they might very well be broken up, so don't take them too seriously.

i watched it.
this was both bittersweet and touching an episode, i saw..
poor stan. i guess the vomit got to wendy, my. well, looks like token got him some honey wheat braided twist! uh, wendy. neat.
that 'raisins' restauraunt cracked me up. nice silly parody of hooters.. with little owl eggs instead of big giant owls.
the goth kids were cool.
wow, that goth girl, is she the lost cartman sister? who knows? but she's cool.
that goth baby is neat ,too.
so that's how that restauraunt with the owls works. ohh my.
boy, butters is nutty over his girl just doing her job.
goth stan is cool.
my, the goth girl's mom is a lot like cartman's mom, only fatter.
boy, butters dad is ruining the apple basket..
i guess butters is going to the goth group...
screw you guys, i'm going home.. now that's a first for stan to say, huh?
flipping off wendy.. wierd.
better than lots of episodes for sure.
and to be honest, i prefer dirty duck's last resort as a hellhole to eat in, cause i give a hoot.

"Once you go black, you never come back!"
Wow, a South Park episode that DOESN'T throw in something too crazy like aliens or people filled with goo or crab people etc etc.
Yeah goths stink.

This episode was great. My favorite parts were the 80's movies parodies and the “goth kid’s. Heh, there are so many kids like that in my school.
"You can't be a non-conformist unless you dress like us!"
It's great to see another Butters episode. He's one of my favorite characters. I would've liked to see Wendy and Stan get back together in the end, but oh well. I'd give it an 8/10.

That was great, makes up for last week's lack of quality.
Butters was great with his usual naiveness...but the real star here was Stan and the Goth plotline. I think they nailed the entire "goth" persona perfectly, right down to the crappy poetry. Best "group satire" they've had in a long time. When they had the Kindergardener goth kid i nearly cried laughing. =D
So, yea, that owned.
Haha. A very funny episode (especially the Goth kids), great Butters as usual. And Jimmy. I kinda feel bad about Stan and Wendy breaking up for good, though. That's one of the things they've had from day one.

The breakup of Wendy And Stan Brings More Pain And Soul Then Having Your Hear Trampled By The Lonliness Of Wolves Devouring At Your Heart, But Enough Of The Poems And Just Skip On Down To The South Park Episode Review of "Rasisins".
I've been kind of wondering where the Stan/Wendy relationship has been going. After all, when's the last time that was dealt with at all (besides a casual mention of cause). Hell, I think the last time Wendy had lines was in last season's "Bebbie's Boobs Destroy Society" episode, and I dont' think this plot has been really dealt with since "Chef Goes Nanners" when working close with Cartman makes Wendy temporaily fall for him. And like I said before, casual mentions from then on in. So after like 3 years of that, who wouldn't want to quit a relationship? And that's the basis for this episode. I thought it was handled well (although I have a feeling Robert's gonna ignore the continuity of this episode and make his fan fics regardless) and it brought up some intresting ideas. Like how another part of Butter's innocence was lost when falling in love with a girl who works at Rasins and then finding out it was all for the money, but getting over it since he takes the good parts of life along with the bad, which convinces Stan (who was moping around and then later joining the goth kids) to do the same. And it also looks like Token and Wendy are the new couple now. Hmmmm, maybe there will be a sequal episode to this, and maybe not. Anyway, this gets a standard B from me, because it just really wasn't that funny.

This was easily my favorite episode of the season. The songs used to describe Stan's depression made me ROFLMAO. The parodies of cliche high school relationships and Hooters (Raisins) were spot-on. I liked how the episode showed the irony of being a goth. The plot with Butter's made me pity him for his naivete, but he teaches Stan that you got to take the bad with the good in life. Plus, his comment about the goths was hilarious :D. So, it looks like Stan & Wendy split up for good. At least Stan got his licks in. Solid A from me.
BTW, what was the name of the movie with the guy holding the boombox over his head in front of his girlfriend's house?

I nominate Butters' line from this episode as one of the funniest on the show ever. Here here!

The 1st five minutes spoke to me since my girlfriend dumped me 2 weeks ago. (Were the South Park creators watching my life?). At least I haven't gone goth.
Raisins as opposed to Hooters. I can see where that comes from, but I won't point it out. Stan quoting Cartman at the end was great.
9/10.

Butters' parents betting on whether or not he's gay was pretty good.

Another Winner.
Highlights of "Raisins" included, Jimmy sneaking the "C" word, Butters calling Wendy an *******, the Goth subplot, the little Goth kid, Butters' parents' bet, all those breakup songs, the Butters subplot, Token and Wendy (nice "Say Anything" homage) and the ending.
Out of 5, it gets 4.5.

South Park had its own version of Hooters run by kids called Raisins.
What's next, a run by kids version of the now defunct Playboy Clubs in South Park?

1. I didn't notice cont.......................(inuing) is allowed on Comedy Central. :D
2. Raisins is so true. Some chick always sits with us whenever we eat at Rai...er, Hooters. :D
(For some reason, we're always the only ones in the smoking section, so she has nothing to do but serve only us. I don't smoke, but a friend does.)
3. Wendy likes chocolate. :D

You mean that every time I go to Hooters for lunch, the girl really DOESN'T LIKE ME???
AHHHHH!!
I thought the wife last night was going to cry when Bebe told Stan the news.. All I hear from the couch is "Awwww!!!!".
Go Token! It's your Birthday!

Did anyone else notice how there were two different plots going on simutaneously like in older episodes?
Also, I just want to say that bringing Kenny back has been a huge disappointment... Why doesn't he say outrageously muffled dirty things like he used to any more?

I finally got around to watching this episode today. I loved it!
I'm pretty sure that I knew that some girls just go after money by the time I was Butters' age. It's a valuable life lesson and I'm glad he learned it young, before he finds out later in life at strip clubs. Any episode that has alot of Butters is getting high grades from me.
When Stan held up the radio and "Shock The Monkey" started, I nearly choked on my drink. That was classic.
Why exactly is Kenny back if he isn't going to offer anything to the series? I thought most of the spisodes where he was gone were hilarious, and it gave some other kids time to shine (Butters, Tweak, etc.). They either need to do something with him or kill him off for good.
The best part of the whole episode for me was the goths. In high school, I knew alot of those people and this was pretty dead on with how they acted. It always annoyed me that there was nothing wrong with them and they just tried so hard to be "different". The one kid who kept flicking his hair cracked me up every time, since a goth friend of mine did it all the time. Butters got quote of the year on those kids :D
I did feel pretty bad for Stan, but he did it to himself. I don't think I've seen him talk to her in the show in forever. The flipping off of Token and talking down at Wendy is about how I'd expect him to act (and it's how I've been before, too).
All in all, a solid 9 out of 10.

Hey, is it just me or did Bebe call Cartman a f_____ fatass at the beginning of this episode? I couldn't believe that they left the f word unbleeped.

This was an entertaining episode, but it's not really that great. I enjoyed their view on Goth people and of course the blaring 'lost love' songs. However I find the Raisins restaurant to be disturbing. It's supposed to be funny, but it's just... disturbing.
I enjoyed the ending though as it doesn't conform to the tried and true cliche of 'getting one's love back' at the end of an episode.

Since Comedy Central re-aired this episode tonight, could someone tell me all of the songs that were used in this episode (Other than YMCA, and Shock The Monkey)?

That was the best Butters episode I've seen since the Lord of the Rings. In fact it was the best episode I've seen period since the Lord of the Rings.
-Jimmy using the "c" word
-Stan playing "Shock The Monkey" on the boom box
-Stan hanging out with Goths
-Raisins
-Butters' fake relationship
-Lack of Cartman being annoying
-Butters' parrents betting on his sexuality
-Butters talking about how important life really is
-Goths getting put down at the end
Looks like I've got a new favorite in my book.

"Wendy, you're a *****. Token, right here buddy."
I still say Stan's the biggest bad ass on South Park. Cartman may be evil, but Stan could whoop his ass anyday. Kyle got himself BEAT DOWN by the home schooled kid.
Stan is the all star quarterback for the cows, has had the only real relationship, had to deal with an evil homicidal fish and a gay dog. This boy's been through some crap, so I was suprised how depressed he got about Wendy.
The goth segments were freakin hysterical though, there's a goth that lives across the hall from me, I'm gonna see how she reacts to that great Butters line.
"I'd rather be a crying little *****, that a pathetic ******* little goth."
This was the first episode of South Park I can say I thoroughly enjoyed all the way through in a while. Hell, I thought it was better than tonight's Chappelle's Show, and I've NEVER said that.

You know, as much as I disagree with a lot of this episode because I like Stan and Wendy together and because I've written a lot of fics with them together at ff.net[and continue to do so, I had this episode turned into a made up story by a tabloid magazine in my series], I still can't help but feel proud of Butters for how he ultimatly handled his breakup and got Stan to appreciate life again, as well as his takedown of the goths. For a crying little pu**y, we sure can learn from him[although if Stan had really learned something from Butters, he wouldn't have insulted Wendy and Token cause at least Butters had no hard feelings with his breakup, so that didn't mix too well for me]And thankfully, with this ending and the Christian Rock Hard ending and being invited to Casa Bonita, he seems to be getting a few more breaks from Matt and Trey lately, unlike when he was the fourth friend, so I hope they keep that up in Season 8[though I wouldn't mind him being evil as Professor Chaos again]You can only see the guys forcing Butters to get in trouble and see him get yelled at by his parents so many times before you wish the kid would get some measure of respect. But he did make this show go down easier for me, so at least I respect him- but hopefully they don't make a sequel with Stan finding another girlfriend, because it would be way way too obvious and predictible that Wendy would try to kill her even though she has a new boyfriend, plus I highly doubt Trey has any other ways to use her now that he's already spoofed his own breakup minus the goth phase.
And though I wish they could have gone another direction with this episode, like Stan and Wendy continuing to put Kyle and Bebe in the middle of their breakup until those two got Stan and Wendy to talk directly to each other and get them to settle things themselves[a lesson in having the two actually being direct with each other instead of using their friends to speak for them does seem like just as much of an important lesson as Butters's speech, IMO]I admit the goths were freaking funny, though it seems to me they took the easy way out by making Stan's sadness turn into something pathetic so he could join the goths, instead of keeping his situation sad and poignent like in the beginning. Of course in real life boys are supposed to seem pathetic if they actually show sadness for losing another person, but that just isn't an attitude/male stereotype that I agree with, but that's just me.
Oh, and the other two songs used from this show were "You Don't Know What You Got" by Cinderella and "All Out of Love" by Air Supply.

This is one of those episodes of South Park tha's funny no matter how many times you watch it.
Favorite scenes/moments:
-The Say Anything parody
-Butters's parents betting on whether or not he was gay
-The goth girl who looks like Cartman in drag (and the scene with her mother)
-The little goth kid who sounds like Ike (the one who said "They're all a bunch of Nazi conformist cheerleaders").
-What Butters said to the goth kids
-The good use of break up songs in this episode

One of my favorite South Parks from last season. I love Butters and I always feel bad for all the bad stuff he's had to endure, but this episode showed he has some good perspective. Very enjoyable. ****1/2

I guess I'm in the minority here, considering I didn't like this episode as much as everybody else here. The Stan/Wendy break up didn't seem too interesting (considering they really didn't do anything couple-like), and the whole "Raisins" thing came off as kinda disturbing and dumb. However, I did laugh a lot at the Goth kids, and what it took to be a goth. Butter's parents betting on their kid being gay was funny too. It just really wasn't an extremely entertaining show. If given a choice, though, I'd rather spend an eternity watching this episode than just 3 hours of "The Great American Celebrity Spelling Bee." Well, actually, I'd rather take an acid bath than watch 3 hours of "The Great American Celebrity Spelling Bee."
