This is sad, a great anime series that has pretty much lost its talkback section. Anyways, if anyone still bothers to watch this show please feel free to talk amongst each other about the latest episode.....

We don't do talkback's for bastardized material. Hence dub Shaman gets no talkback.

Or maybe there's just not enough intrest in the show.

Then why the hell does Yugioh get a Talkback?

There should be a talkback for the manga version then.

Just curious; how do the Talkbacks work here?

I mean, hell, a new week of Hamtaro garnered Talkbacks at the Toonami board...

How do they work. Its easy really, whoever feels like doing it. For some reason, the Pokemon and Yugioh talkback threads are the only ones that really get any attention on wether who gets to put them up. And that's between Diana and Azurill.
Whoever wants to put a Shaman King talkback thread can, and if they don't oh well.

I used to do the talkbacks for Shaman King... but there just was no interest. Less and less people participated so I just stopped doing them. It doesn't help that:
A) FoxBox doesn't air on the same day for everyone.
B) FoxBox isn't watched as much as other kid's blocks.
C) Shaman King is going against Pokemon Advanced in many areas.
D)The first few episodes are slow and turned some people off.

Knux: From what I've seen they work pretty much the same as Toonami's meaning anyone's game.., but they don't get stickied and the popular ones get adequate support..

Huh. Yeah, I guess Animé would cover way more than Toonami. Anyone can put 'em up, but if not, mods make sure that they're up (It's really rare for more than three Talkbacks be stickied)

Well I don't how it is bastardized that much seeing as they let Yoh say jackass. I mean, sure that isn't much, but this is a 4kids dub we're talking about. I was a little shocked when I heard that. I guess it is a good thing the foxbox is on sundays for me so I have equal time to watch both blocks.

Whoa, they let Yoh say "jackass" on Saturday Morning TV?

Since when does Yoh curse, other than "dammit" when he's really mad?

Most people are tuning into Pokémon Advanced and/or have already seen the subbed version of Shaman King.

My biggest problem is that Fox Box airs on Sundays in my area's WB affiliate right around the time I have church and stuff. And while I like checking out these dubs just to see how they compare to the original, since I've already seen the superior Japanese version I don't really go out of my way to tape it or anything when I'm gone. I actually quite like the English version of Shaman King - it's certainly not as good as the Japanese version, but it actually stands on its' own quite nicely. It's just not on at a good time for the moment.

Oh, and do you happen to recall exactly which episode Yoh said jackass on the English version? My curiosity is fully peaked - how could a company so hell bent on destroying otakus also allow such loose editing on their fully Americanized anime?

It was the most recent episode that aired this Saturday/Sunday where Yoh and Horo Horo fought each other in the first round of the tournament. Well Yoh wasn't using it as an insult, more of just referring to the animal, but it's still a bit of a shock isn't it?

Dont worry about it There are tons of shows that dont have a talkback here that get very well recieved somewhere else.

Shaman King is great, even when it has edits.

Trey's sister has Misty's voice... That would make them both type cast (her even more so).

Gosh it was like watching Misty and Ash only Trey was more like a Ninja Turtles (and for good reason I suppose - Leo's voice, but he act's more like Michelangelo).

I find the characters enjoyable to watch and most of the VA's are great. I've even gotten use to Morty. The story isn't lost in the conversion (the tell the ghosts back stories) and they've been getting away with a lot. Heck man my only gripe is that the music was changed. Overall I hope it comes to CN and gets a weekday slot. It still would be a pretty good show for Toonami.

Trey

His name is Horo Horo. -.-;

'Tis a shame American audiences will probably never see "OverSoul" on national TV.

Trey? They're calling HoroHoro TREY? Damn, poor Chocolove. He has a bunch of jokes about the name HoroHoro.

Is Pirika still Pirika? What about HoroHoro's spirit, Kororo?

See this is what I don't get. Shaman King never lost its talkback section, its no body bothered to put one up. This is an anime discussion board, not a FoxBox one. Its whoever wants too, and if nobody does, oh well.

what's with all of the complaining? The other Foxbox anime (Ultimate Muscle) never got talkbacks (except sonic X and the end of fighting foodons)

Yeah, it's weird hearing Misty's voice on Pirika and gushing all over unlike tomboy Misty. But I guess they need to give her some work now that she's mostly gone in Pokemon AG. :D

Yes, Horo Horo is Trey Racer in English, just like Manta is Morty, Ryo is Rio, and a bunch of other Americanized names (especially "sidekick" characters) on SatAM so it shouldn't be a surprise anymore. It also should be common practice now to use the English names when talking about the English dubs (for ex: Yugioh and Pokemon).

Though they did something weird in the latest ep. The characters explicitly mentioned that Trey's real name is Horo Horo - even his sister called him that. I guess it's implying that "Trey" is just an English name he uses for worldwide traveling, kinda like how many Chinese have English names to go along with their Chinese names (ex: you don't really think Jackie Chan is his real name, do you? :D ). And yes, his sister is still Pirika.

4Kids gets away with a lot more in their own Fox Box than under the KidsWB umbrella, and also partly because the Fox Box aims at a slightly older age group than KidsWB (so they don't completely compete against each other).

Yeah Yoh even made a joke about Trey's real name being Horo Horo. I think Kororo is still called Kororo but I wasn't paying that much attention.

I *would* watch this show, I really would, but

a) We don't get Fox Box here at college, and

b) It plays during Pokémon Advance.

If I could watch it, I'd gladly make the talkback threads, but unfortunately there are just too many forces against me at the moment.

I guess I could make talkbacks for it because more times than not I catch it, but usually I have to tape it because I doing a chore or something.

Actually I looked back at the talkbacks of the early episodes and they did change her name but only slightly to Kori.
