ican't wait to see this. It's supposed to be a Korean Kungfu film. I love kungfu movie. It's going to air December 21st. on MTV at 9:00PM eastern time. If somebody already made a thread about this my apologies.

Is this a movie or new tv series? How in the heck did MTV get it? And what is it about exactly? I've only seen one commercial but it looks hella cool....
Thanks to anyone that helps.

It's a Korean film that MTV raped. Volcano High. (http://www.kungfucinema.com/news/2003-08-18-04.htm)

Hmm. Well Senbei, have you seen the real version in full? Hopefully the dub won't be too bad...but replacing the original score with rap music...ick... :moon:

Trust me you'd be better off buying the original on ebay.

No, I haven't seen the original. That interview with the MTV exec. made me sick. The lady is actually taking pride in the fact she is editing anouther persons work.

What the hell? There are only two success stories that I can think of at editting a show/movie for american audiences.
1. Robotech
2. Power Rangers
I can only speak for PR (since I never got to see Robotech), and the reason it was changed the way it was from the originals is because the other networks wouldn't pick it up the way it was. With the shows I've seen on MTV, what could they possibly have to edit out and why?

You forgot Voltron.

If it was a real attempt at dubbing this film, I'd be happy. Changing the soundtrack is already one bad move. If I hear one utterence of "Dude" or some other "kewl" americanized dialouge, I'm changing the channel.

I have seen this movie, its not an excellent film or anything, but it is good and pretty damn funny at times.. it would be perfect if MST3K were still on the air.. or at least to get a few anime geeks doing MST3K..
considering Fuma(X/1999), Vash (Trigun), Kuno (Ranma 1/2) and Wakka (FFX) jokes can be made throughout it

The promos they've been running on MTV for it make it look pretty damn cool. I guess I'll still check it out, it looks interesting enough.
Anyone got a plot or something about it?

There's is a possibility that the dub could be bad considering the fact that the voice actors are singers such as Missy Eliot(did i spell that wrong). But i really don't care about that part i just want to see if the plot is good.

I'm just happy MTV was denied the rights to Bebop so they couldn't change the music ("updating" it to hip-hop or something.)

No...MTV was offered Bebop and they declined it. (If what I've heard is correct)
