Adequate. Every episode placed in the top 100.

#13 - JUSTICE LEAGUE - October 11th ("Only a Dream"); 10 PM - 2.0 - 3.5 - 1699
#21 - JUSTICE LEAGUE - October 25th ("Hearts and Minds"); 10 PM - 1.9 - 3.2 - 1592
#28 - JUSTICE LEAGUE - October 18th; 12 PM - 1.9 - 5.2 - 1593
#59 - JUSTICE LEAGUE - October 18th ("Maid of Honor"); 10 PM - 1.8 - 3.0 - 1496

May have gotten the episode titles wrong.

It should be noted that Teen Titans was the #6 telecast of the month ("Apprentice").

To put things in perspective, Top 100 out of how many shows? And compared to what ... only other basic cable series, or all TV series?

Where'd ya get it anyway? Private source, or something available to the public? I've often searched for a complete list of TV ratings and have never found anything beyond a Top 20.

The top 100 telecasts of the month for Cartoon Network. There are approximately 1500+ telecasts in a month for a TV network. The bottom 1200 telecasts don't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

Kids Next Door placed #1.

I second this question. I would love to see this for myself; seems quite interesting.

Dude if you got the episode titles right then "Only a Dream" was the number #13 telecast of the month. None of the others did too shabby, "Tabula Rasa" did the worst. I have a suspision that may have to with the fact that CN did not advertise the series officially starting aside from a few commercials in the week before. Oh well. Kids Next Door being #1 is just so.....wrong though.

Well if you think about it Detective, shows will get better ratings if advertized more. KND is the most advertized CC on CN now. Yet better shows like JL are negelected with ratings because most of the CN audience had no clue about the Season 2 episodes until the last minute.

Exactly my point. Teen Titans and Clone Wars got advertised to death as long as a month before they aired. "Twilight" got advertised a little but the second season got almost nothing except for one commercial that makes you think Batman and Superman are the only ones and it even that only aired during SVES.

Yeah, I think CN really dropped the ball with advertising JL. I've seen the commercial plenty, that's not the problem, it's just that it's a poor ad. Standard SVES music and voice. 2nd Season JL deserves a cool, Toonami-style megapromo, and never got one. The SVES promos are boring to the max. It kinda pisses me off.

It's probably cause Teen Titans and Clone Wars were new shows--hence the heavy promotion. This was just another season of JL, not a new show. Should it have been advertised more? Definitely, but it still wouldn't have gotten the kind of promos that TT and CW were getting.

I haven't seen too much advertising for TT after it debuted.

Hey, the weekday airings over the summer got some really sweet British pop promos. By all means, the second season should get at least something that cool.

Ideally, we would have gotten promos like that awesome comic book one.

I'm curious how the international numbers are. Until I came to the discussion boards I didn't realize that JL was aired internationally, including Israel and Hong Kong. Given the size of the international audience, I would think that CN used both domestic and international viewership to determine whether to renew a show.

This also brings up a side issue of why JL, BTAS and STAS are not released in whole season DVD sets like other shows, such as Alias, Futurama, Simpsons, Family Guy, etc. There's been news that Family Guy might be put back into production because of how well the DVDs are selling. I would think that revenues from selling whole season sets would at least match those from selling it piecemeal the way it is now. And it shouldn't too adversely affect syndication revenue.

My suspicion is that eventually whole season sets will be issued, after they've gone as far as they can with the piecemeal approach. Sort of like the original series for Star Trek. Too bad they're doing the same thing with Mutant X.

How much a factor did showing the whole hour play? Was that decision made in order to insure a third season?
As greedy as I am to see all the episodes and see them now. I prefer the single episode over both at once. Especially for their first run premieres.
the hour episode kills the suspense of the part 1 cliffhanger and gives us no time to speculate, rant or rave about it here.
It also shortens our viewing time between seasons. Giving us another LONG wait for a new season to get ready. We ALL hated the wait for Season 2.
I would rather see the hour episodes as the first reruns
Just imagine what the week between Hereafter episodes could have been like and all the lively discussion we missed ;(

Just imagine what the week between Hereafter episodes could have been like and all the lively discussion we missed ;(If I were to look at things objectively, I would probably agree. As it is, I'll try to stay positive and postulate that many episodes are better taken as a whole, and better appreciated the first time around as a cohesive unit. I think that the final battles in "Twilight" for example are far more climactic given the beginning of the episode, and when cliffhangers are somewhat lackluster (e.g., "Wild Cards" IMHO), it seems less hokey as a commercial break.

BTW, what is SVES? I'm wrackin' my brain ovah heyah...

Giving us another LONG wait for a new season to get ready. I vastly prefer having the complete hour aired at once; while it's true that airing them seperating artificially lengthens the season, the episodes themselves are better viewed as a cohesive whole. The "cliffhanger" between the two halves are usually not that engaging, and when aired seperately, the episode feels chopped.
