I'm not sure whether I should post it here or in General Animation, but anyway:
to those who may be interested, this is just a reminder (if my interpretation on the TV listing is correct) about an old classic anime film showing today:
Swan Lake
Sun 12/7
1pm EST
Channel UPN
Brief Description: A prince searches for a princess and finds a magic swan encaged by an evil sorceror and his daughter. More info and pictures here ('http://radish-spirit.com/cbl/swanprincess/misc1/anime.htm').
It doesn't air often, in fact quite rarely, so you may want to take advantage of this rare showing. That's all. :)
(Note: I would've made a poll, but this isn't exactly a talkback, though you can talk about it here if you want. :D )

Ah crap. I just turned it there.. and some Pink Panther animated movie is playing instead.. and its listed as Swan Lake too... grr... is anyone else having this problem or does my state really suck? I was really looking forward to it.. *sigh* does anyone know if they'll replay it later on today? :( I miss those days when anime movies used to play on tv.. like on sci-fi channel. :( *sighs*

Right in the middle of football. It was either that or Eagles Vs Cowboys. A tough choice but...

Hmm. The film only filled about eighty minutes, so they ran two Pink Panther shorts after it in the remaining time.

Yeah, they filled out the timeslot with Pink Panther, so if you saw that, that's already the end.
It's the original dub AFAIK. I've never known of a new re-dub anyways.
Sorry I was late with the reminder. I only found out that morning while checking the day's schedule.
Unfortunately, I don't see a rerun for the next 2 weeks. Like I said, it's rarely aired. IIRC, the last time it aired before yesterday was June. So that makes twice a year only. :(
Fortunately, I recorded it this time. I could encode and upload it for y'all, but it'd be taboo here since it's commercial, albeit rarely aired and not even available on video AFAIK.
Too bad. It's a nice classic film. I saw it as a kid a long time ago, though I don't remember exactly when. It would've been also a good film to watch for newcomers whose experience with "old-time" anime films consists only of Castle of Cagliostro. :D

Really? The last time they aired it on UPN, it was this crappy new dub (I should know, I own the original on Video (yay hi-tops) and have been watching it since I was two.
Its no longer being produce on video or DVD as far as I know. Searching E-bay is probably your best bet of finding a copy.

You're right, my bad. I didn't know there was a previous dub.
Here's the info from a certain Chris Sobieniak:
FYI, there are two English dubs that were produced of this film. One
was originally produced in the early '80s and was seen on home video
through Mieda Home Entertainment (or through it's "Hi-Topps" label), and
the other that was produced for Sameul Goldwyn Productions that is being
distributed by MGM. The only drawback about the version you've just
seen is that it lacks any production credits of the Japanese staff
involved in the film, which was on the older release.
