Here is a trivial pop quiz on the broadcast history of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, which is going into its 30th year in a row.

Among the 5 local TV stations listed herein, one of them did not broadcast Rudolph in its initial broadcast back in 1964. Do you know the answer? Place your votes today. We'll have the answer later this week.

This would probably be better on the General Discussion Board.

Actually, I need to see this one someday. I keep missing it, though.

It's too bad you're in the UK, because it is being shown on US TV on Tuesday night.
You may be able to buy the video from a company called Classic Media (www.classicmedia.tv).

And the answer to this week's pop quiz is... WJZ Baltimore. You see, during it's initial run, Rudolph made his debut on NBC and ran on that network for the first 8 years. The special moved to CBS in 1972 and has been the powerhouse of holiday classics ever since.
Here's the small tidbit I should also point out. The other four stations listed above (KYW, KCNC, WBZ and KMTV) were all originally NBC affiliates when the special first came out. Eventually, in 2 decades time, Rudolph returned to the respective stations after a really long absence (actually, it was on other channels that have since swapped networks). The story was somewhat similar for local Baltimore station WBAL. They aired the special for the first 8 years, from 1964-1971. Then after about 9 years on WMAR, Rudolph returned to WBAL in 1981 (after a station swap from NBC to CBS) for another 14 years before going to WJZ (due to another station swap) in 1995.
And now you know. :p
