I been reading in some other forums and i came across someone who stated that romance shouldn't be included and distracts from the show. Now i think this is totally untrue but i wanted to know how others felt about it? so is a romance story (kinda like the way gl and hg are going) approiate on justice league or should the keep it to action?

hint-little bit of both

I have no problem with romance in the show. I just do not want it to run the show. I do not want the Green Lantern/Hawkgirl romance thing everytime I see them. Romance can be good, but it can get old really really fast, so the approach to something like it needs to be handled carefully. The Batman/Wonder Woman romance is being handled well, even the really small Superman/Lois, because it's not being forced into every episode, like Hawkgirl/Green Lantern is. It's growing, slowly, allowing other things, such as action, drama, humor, etc to come first.

As long as it doesn't detract from the plot of the episode is question, I'm all for it. It can even add to the plot- as we might just see in Starcrossed.

I dont have a problem with it. As long as its not the focus of the show. The hints are always nice it makes the characters more human for me.

Romance is as valid a storyline and subplot as any other. The only time its a problem is when its done badly or gratuitously. It seems to be working fine with other toons like X-Men Evolution.
The big problem with JL is that they are limited by their own fame and heritage.
Like you can't mess with the costumes and Batman will always be a loner

Another limiting factor is that there is no guarenteed future seasons of JL.
Better to not start a storyline that never gets finished or permitted to be explored in depth.

I would love to see the Batman/WW explored but it would be doomed to not really go anywhere.
at least with Hawkgirl/GL, they are the less familiar heroes so maybe we will see something

romance is good. adds character. i don't think it should be sidestepped. Justice League may be an action show, but that doesn't mean it has to be ACTION ACTION ACTION all the time. these guys are human (more or less :p ) and they have lives. it's nice to have that extra depth.

I don't see a problem with it; in fact I would encourage it. They did a pretty good job with Superman and Lois on Superman, so they've got some experience in the area.

I hope that the Green Lantern/Hawkgirl relationship remains an ongoing thing. It would add an extra dimension to the characters. Just as long as it doesn't overpower the show (but the creative team probably would know what they're doing; no Star Wars, Anakin and Padme awkwardness).

Romance is fine. It adds depth. It'll only bug me when it takes away great big aspects of a character I love. (Like Hawkgirl suddenly becoming a helpless damsel) Or if it ends up running the show and every episode is about LOVE LOVE LOVE. (For anime fans, Fushigi Yuugi comes to mind) I'm fine with romance. Just don't make it the big center every episode.

I wouldn't mind seeing an actual romance, or even a relationship develop between two of the characters on the show. Although I'm also just fine with things being handled as they are -- vague suggestions of unspoken feelings between Hawkgirl and Green Lantern, an even vaguer suggestion of an attraction between Batman and Wonder Woman.

Although the HG - GL angle is the one more likely to be explored, lately I've been becoming increasingly enamoured of the idea of Batman and Wonder Woman being together. I don't follow comics much anymore, but I've read that there has been at least some exploration of a Batman - Wonder Woman romance lately in "Justice League."

I doubt DC would ever have the courage to allow this to be fully explored, and that's a shame. A serious, long-term relationship between two major solo characters has never been attempted (to my knowledge) in comics.

But if the show does decide to develop a relationship, it should never loose sight of the fact that it is an action/adventure show. I wouldn't want JL to follow in the unfortunate footsteps of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and turn into a turgid soap opera.

I like the idea of romance in JL. It adds more dimension to the characters. While I like GL/Hawkgirl and the idea that a Hawkman may still be in the picture, I really would like to see a little more with WW/Batman. I just think that those two would make a more interesting "romance" and the hints would be more fun. Don't get me wrong, i still like GL and Hawkgirl, but Batman by far is my favorite character and WW and him would be a very interesting twist.

I can't wait until Hawkman makes his appearance on JL> I wonder what his reaction would be to Hawkgirl hooking up with Green Lantern? I also think that Hawkgirl is married. I remember when Flash was hitting on her at the Watchtower and asked her if there was a Hawkman in her life. She paused for a long period leading me to believe that she is attached or is currently seperated from Hawkman.

I don't think romance is inappropriate at all as I can't think of any reason a theme that could be done in live-action shouldn't be done in animation. Many cartoons have already been able to work in romance successfully. Gargoyles developed relationships with not just 1, but 3 sets of characters.

I would add Justice League to that list also. They've been dropping the Green Lantern / Hawkgirl hints for quite awhile. When it finally came time it was handled very well. Certainly much better than the Star Wars prequels. As with anything else, including romance is about balance. You can't let it overrun the show, just like you can't let action or something else overrun the show in most cases.

I'm all for Hawkgirl/Green Lantern together.

As for Batman/Wonder Woman... ehhh, keep the tension. Actually, I'd like to see Catwoman appear at some point, maybe to give Diana some competition. Ya'know, just to spice things up a bit.

I agree with the general consenus that romance is as valid a topic as any. I don't so why just because this is an action show or is animated it should be limited to nothing but that. Heck, if every episode was nothing but a bunch of guys bopping each other over the head it would get old, very old. These are seven people thrown together it makes sense that out of that two people are goign to "click" so to speak and "Wild Cards" has completely sold me on the Hawkgirl/Green Lantern relationship.

Now I would like to say a quick few words about the much vaunted Wonder Woman and Batman relationship. I hope it doesn't go anywhere. One of the reasons is practical. With GL and Hawkgirl definately developing something it's going to get very soap operish if every one starts hooking up. Just my opinion but still. I don't mind some little flirting and stuff like there was in "Maid of Honor" but I definately don't want to see them kissing in the Wathctower any time soon if at all.

I think the Batman/Wonder Woman dynamic would work best if the characters were subtle about their feelings for one another. I don't see these two saying it in words, but in action. On that note, I wouldn't mind Batman in his Bruce Wayne alter-ego meeting Wonder Woman.

I wouldn't mind Batman in his Bruce Wayne alter-ego meeting Wonder Woman.I take it you didn't see "Maid of Honor" -- because that's exactly what happened.

If a romance were to develop between these two, I think it would play out better with Princess Diana dating billionaire Bruce Wayne. Wonder Woman dating Batman would be tough, since he has a secret identity and she doesn't.

I think it's rather funny that most of the League is "paired off" with Batman/wonder woman and Hawkgirl/Green Lantern and Superman/lois but Flash who hits on almost every woman he comes across is still looking.. so, I hope there's a show showcasing him and showing wally west .. we can hope they follow up on this for Flash fans.

I hope his girl friend from the comics Linda Can't Remember Her Last Name shows up.

I would love to see Linda Park show up for the Flash fans. Like you said, we have Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Wonder Woman all "paired" with people.

Bring in Linda Park and Aubrey Sparks anytime they like.

I doubt that there is going to be any sort of direct Wonder Woman/Batman relationship of any kind. The scene in "The Brave And The Bold" (Diana Kissing Ol' Bats) was thrown in on more of a whim, and while they do like hinting at it, expect nothing to really come of it.

Hawkgirl/Green Lantern however is pretty much a definite by now. And if "Hearts And Minds" didn't convince anyone, "Wild Cards" should. And it works and (if done properly) it could work up to something great. I just wonder what "Starcrossed" will bring to this relationship.

I have nothing to say about the Superman/Lois relationship except that I don't think we'll see much of it on Justice League.

Flash hooking up with someone? Well he certainly flirts with enough women for the creative team use that idea. And it may very well be one of his comic girlfriends. If there is a Season 3, I hope they explore this idea a bit.

However, aren't we missing someone? What about Martian Manhunter? Hell, Ol J'ohnn was the only one who actually had a real love intrest and relationship from the beginning (although that, along with his entire race, was killed). Although I doubt they'll do anything about that. J'ohnn seems to be a loner when it comes to romance at this point (espically since he's now on Earth. I doubt he would want to "hook up" with anyone from this planet) but who knows? I certainly don't.

I have to see that episode again.
