This weekend beings the month long classic cartoon festival hosted by Collin Kellogg here in New York City. What I would like to know is that who will be attending either screening or both showings?I will be going to the "Early 1930s Rubber Hose animation" on Saturday 12/06/03 @ 6pm and hopefully some of us TZ members can meet up at the screenings.

Well, I'm planning on attending the "Politically Incorrect" screening this Friday. I suggested a few titles to Collin Kellogg, including "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B", "Scrub Me Mama with a Boogie Beat" and "Tokio Jokio" and he plans on showing them. I might be able to attend the WW2 screening, too.

I also had the honor of chatting with Collin Kellogg last week and I requested to have the oppertunity to see some great rare shorts for the "Rubber Hose" screening and he gave me a tenative selection for the program. He told me that such rubber hose favorites including "Flip The Frog", Oswald The Lucky Rabbit", Columbia's "Krazy Kat", "Bosko" and a special screening of Dick Huemer's "Toby The Pup" cartoons added in the mix.As well as the most sought after Max Fleischer 1930 Talkartoon short, "Hot Dog" will also be screened.I urge everyone who lives in the New York City area to attend this very rare cartoon festival all this month. :bosko:

I'm so envious... Tell me how "Bugle Boy" looks in color!

Nelson,
When and where are the shows? Maybe I can make one.
I'm not disclosing my location, but I live nearby.
Could you give me a listing of the shows?
BTW, I've bought a 16mm print of Bosko's Party from Collin, and admire the many cartoons he sells on ebay. Such a great 16mm collection! He must have been waiting at TV station doors when the 16mm's were being liquidated.

I just got finished on the phone with the theater, and just in case those of you who are attending these shows didn't know, the tickets go on sale 30 minutes before showtime. I can't wait until Friday http://forums.toonzone.net/images/smilies/cool.gif

A very good point cabe, as I highly suggest getting to the theater early.I say this, is because these classic cartoon screenings can sell out very quickly so give yourself plenty of time upon arrivng to the theater.

Guys,
Sorry I just cannot go to the show due to my schedule. If it were earlier in the day- probably. A silent film festival I go to sometimes starts at 1:00 PM on Sundays ...now that's convenient.
Maybe I can attend next saturday's show, but I'm afraid I wont enjoy it as much.
BTW, How easy is it to "give a show" like Collin is doing?

However I will try to get to the "I.B. Dammed" and "WW2" screenings. Those still sound like great shows although I've been waiting all week to see tonight's show. Mother Nature sure picked a hell of a time for a blizzard http://forums.toonzone.net/images/smilies/mad.gifhttp://forums.toonzone.net/images/smilies/mad.gifhttp://forums.toonzone.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
