I was watching "The Savage Time" with my sister. In one of the scenes in Rebel Leader Batman's base we so two rebels making out. My sister pointed it out, and I had noticed it before, the couple looks very similar to Dick Grayson and Babs Gordan. Is this couple supposed to be an alternate version of Gordan and Grayson, or are they just similar looking?

Pretty sure it's supposed to be them...

You can see them in this (http://wf.toonzone.net/WF/justiceleague/episodes/TheSavageTime/Part1/Pan04.jpg) Pan done by Borg4of3, along with whatfans believed to be Tim Drake and Cassandra Cain (the third Batgirl). All speculation of course... :)

Is that what Cassandra Cain looks like? I thought the original rumour was that it was a real-life Annie, the girl Clayface spawned in "Growing Pains."

There were 3 Batgirls? I thought only Gordon and Cain! Who's the third Bat Babe? Ha Ha Ha

Huntress, you never fought her though.

Oh, and Cassandra would kick your butt.

I had noticed the Tim reference!! Who could it be (if anyone)..? I would think it was more likely to be Annie since that would tie in with TNBA history than Cassandra. Both ideas are cool though.

Or we could just assume alternate Tim's quite the player. ;)

It'd be cool if we could get a 4-5 pack of'em. Batman, Dick, Bard, Tim and maybe the chick. Guess a 4-pack would be best though, since the girl's basically misc.

Actually, Helena [Huntress] was the second Batgirl. Cassandra is the third.

Holy Short Term Memories, Batfans

Betty Kane was the FIRST batgirl and sidekick to Batwoman Kathy Kane from the Golden Age of comics
Which makes Barbara Gordon the second Batgirl
Helena (Huntress) did a short stint as the full masked batgirl before Cassandra took over

Wow, I'm real behind on my Bat history. I didn't know there were other Batgirls after Barbara..

I think it's cool that they put them into that JL episode, it's too bad I didn't notice that. It's nice to think they put a lot of effort in trying to tie things together.

I don't believe Betty exist in Post Crisis continuity. So in the real world she is the first Bat Girl, as far as current Batman history goes Barbra is the first Bat Girl.

Betty Kane does exist Post Crisis. She became a tennis star, her name was changed to Bette Kane. and she became Flamebird.
bonus points for those who know the history of Flamebird and Nightwing

a quick google search can provide informative sites like this one to answer questions

Barbara is the most well known batgirl because we all grew up with her and seen her used in different media. but then there are those who think Barry Allen was the first Flash or Hal Jordan the first GL.
They weren't and we should not ignore or forget the heritage before them

Actually, to be totally correct.

Betty Kane was Bat-Girl (Pre Crisis)
Barbara Gordon was Batgirl (i)
Helena [Huntress]was Batgirl (ii)
Cassandra Cain is Batgirl (iii)

Hmm, not really relevant to the "Savage Time" though is it? :) Which doesn't follow Bat History as closely as it's fans! ;)

If it is Tim, it has to be Annie - it's the only thing that truely makes sense. The two males are the only obvious faces in the pan, we definately can tell that's Dick, so it makes sense that the other face is someone relevant. If it's Tim, and it's based on DCAU it can only be Anna. I can't see them putting a referance to character which hadn't been in DCAU yet.

.. plus the hair is similar.. :)

It`s a shame how the writer crap all over dick and babes reletionship in the bat series.

.. plus the hair is similar.. :)mmmm, it similar but the fringe is pointing the wrong way, plus Anna's hair always covered her ears and this isen't.

Also anna was drawn very consistently with a very pale skin type, much lighter than tims, also this one is a lot more female up front, although tim is obviously older too.

Anna would make more sense if its DCAU continuity, but in that case Dick should be mooching in the corner and Babs kissing Bruce. You could easily see this scene as an alternate reality more in line with the Comics, in which case Cassandra makes more sense.

Of course, unless someone official answers i doubt this will ever get resolved one way or the other.

It`s a shame how the writer crap all over dick and babes reletionship in the bat series. :sad:Not at all, I thought they handled it well. The direction they took Dick meant that their split seemed all the more realistic. The history and character for both Dick and Babs relationship is very different in the comics to how it is in the cartoon. I think simply emulating it despite these differences would have been lazy.

I don't think the Bruce/Babs thing is unrealistic either - I think it added a further darkness to the series. Life is messy - and Bruce's is just that. That's what I love about DCAU - it pulls no punches. Especially BB - while it's general atmosphere is lighter, it adds a far darker slant to Batman's past.

Hehe, now that's attention to detail! :)

Well not really, it's all to do with turning points, and the turning point in which Dick decided to leave his life as Robin and Barbara behind didn't occur in the alternate reality. That's why I love what they did in TNBA. It felt like a tragic break up. Dick and Babs got on well, but Dick chose a different path. Instead of embracing life, he embraced the night. While trying to step out of Batman's shadow, he did in fact fall straight into it. So, I think the Dick and Babs thing in Savage Time is as DCAU as BB is in that respect, both are logical outcomes taking into account the characters present.

So you think it good they made dick a batman wonnbe instead of giving him his own personilty in the comic? I have no like babs change of perosnilty sense they put her in B/S adventure. She is too bright to fell for someone like bruse.
