Has anyone noticed only how bad LNB&W has been over the last month or so? It's been awful that I can't remember the last time I actually tape the show...I hope that this fall, we'll be seeing some great stuff(I Hope, I Hope, I Hope,)real soon such as, Bosko and Buddy and show the B&W Porky Pig cartoons that haven't aired yet.
What do you guys think huh?

Well, they are repeating certain toons way too much (Betty Boops and Merrie Melodies) but I still am usually pleased with the show, I enjoyed the Popeyes from the last show and was very glad to see Screwloose the time before that, since I missed Wanted No Master the last time it was on. The Popeyes are usually what save the show for me, other than that I see stuff that I feel I have seen enough of and would rather see them go back to rarer stuff like Bosko or Felix or Koko.

All I can say is this....I certainly do hope (from what MR.GAK told us) that Cartoon Network will present that "Silent cartoon" special on Christmas Eve, that would be the best thing for that network, and if CN get great ratings for the show, then maybe CN will present a weekly showcase for silent cartoons sometime next year. :D

I just wish they'd show rare cartoons more often. It's late at night, what are they afraid of? Bust out some AFRICA SQUEAKS, INJUN TROUBLE and some WWII Popeyes.

Absolutely!!

They went ahead with Adult Swim, this is mild in comparison!

Poysinally, I say toss the PD Boops and get cleaner prints from Paramount/Viacom, please...

Yes, I tend to agree with the majority of you. LNB&W has not been good lately. I for one am tired of those Betty Boop cartoons (some new prints please, or don't bother to show them!). They keep repeating the same "Merrie Melodies" over and over. "The Captain and the Kids" aren't very funny; no wonder this series died a slow death. The only redeeming films are the B & W Popeyes and Porky Pig cartoons.

Like I have mentioned before on this board, they need to mix it up more. I'd like to see more post H-I "Merrie Melodies" and some of the later one-shot "Looney Tunes" like "The Haunted Mouse" or "Saps in Chaps". As for Bosko and Buddy, I think that they've been cast to the wayside like the Daffy/Speedy shorts.

I've heard many times that CN can only play what Warners gives them. Personally that excuse is getting pretty old.

Yeah, I don't much like those bad Betty Boop prints either, then again I don't really care for Betty either. They need to get some of the old PD stuff like Felix the Cat or Flip the Frog, or Cubby Bear or something. I think the rotation gets tiresome. At least throw in a Bosko cartoon or two!

I'm sorry to offend any Betty Boop/Famous Studios fans - but those Boops are REALLY BORING :(

I watch LNB&W mostly for Popeye and Porky. As for the Captain and The kids - its nice to see that such an odd series is remembered, but they really are kinda bland in a way.

Its especially sad for Popeye, because like I said in a previous post - without the other missing ones, theres a _LOT_ of repetition on them and a lot of the classics that are just too rampant with mean stereotypes that wouldnt cut airing today.

Personally I probably wouldnt care to see Buddy (I dont really remember him that much), but I'd love to see Bosko return to the air in some form or fashion. :)

HOPEFULLY - if they ever decide to expand Adult Swim sometime in the furture so that classic cartoons were included in the lineup after Cowboy Bebop went off, we could get some of those lost classics. But its unlikely.

At least that or maybe showing a disclaimer before hand like how AS has one. That could work maybe.

Has anyone from CN made a statement about WHY Bosko and Buddy aren't airing? Or at least created a petition to expand the lineups or someting?
