View Full Version : Capcom should reinvent Street Fighter with the help of T.H.U.G

Ok just hear me out here.
Using the T.H.U.G custom player mode, players create their own personal fighter.
After creation you can actually walk right up to a dining Chun Li and have a *gasp* real street fight, in the vain of the Goals from Tony Hawk.
You fight dozens of no name fighters for fast cash to get to the different contries. Imagine Street Fighter with freedom of GTA.

That just my idea, to bad Capcom is stuck in the 2D world.

Hmmm...good idea. I like. :)

BTW-Capcom made a 3D Street Fighter game for PS2...and I have it. And...it sucks....alot. Like, really bad. :p

Weren't they working on that Capcom Fighting All-Stars game that was 3D and looked pretty good? They cancelled it though. :(

Anyway, that's a good idea. I'd love to team up with Vega.

I've allways wanted something like that to happen. In later installments, characters from other franchises could show up. SNK, Dark Stalkers, Megaman, etc.

Darn, I want a game like this. :(

Maybe a strict writing campaign is in order?

The 3D Street Fighter is lame.

despite not having sf characters, and being nothing like that...rise to honor will be like that.

ok, i just wanted to plug it.

p.s.----they would probably make it cel shaded and destroy it anyways

Capcom tried to reinvent Street Fighter with Street Fighter III.

It failed because of overexposure (Street Fighter III doesn't sound all that special when a new Alpha or EX game is released every few months) and the hardcore crowd hated all the changes. And the first version was obviously rushed.

A new Street Fighter game could be a success if Capcom would let Street Fighter and its characters disappear for a few years. Unfortunately, Capcom doesn't seem to get the message. In the past two years we've gotten Capcom vs. SNK Pro, Capcom vs. SNK 2, SNK vs. Capcom, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and the Game Boy Advance remakes of Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. Not to mention the upcoming Hyper Street Fighter II and Street Fighter IV. (Have I forgotten anything?)

Capcom has mastered the art of overexposure. And it isn't just Street Fighter. Did we really need four different versions of the first Resident Evil game (three of them on PlayStation)?

Rumored for some time next year.

Once CAPCOM runs out of adjectives and numbers between 1-3

i would play that game.

Capcom needs to get their butt in gear and reinvent the dang franchise. I'm surprised people aren't bored with it already (then again people aren't bored with Megaman  )

You speak lies. SF III Tripple Threat was rated one of the top 3 fighters of all time. It's graphics, fighting system, music, and teck cancel all made the game a big hit. No other 2D games have come close detail and graphic wise besides GGXX and Mark of the Wolf. I too liked SFA3, but it was nothing compared to SF III to me besides excluding cast members of SSFII and Final Fight.

And yes it looked better than M vs C 2 and Capcom vs SNK because most of the character models don't blend it and look like a M.U.G.E.N. game. The Darkstalkers cast is a great example to that. They took mostly old models and remade the SNK and a few Capcom models. Those all look the same.

However, you will have to wait for Street Fighter II 2015 and Street Fighter III 2015. It's a shame the NES SF2015 didn't launch off well, or else that's ANOTHER series for Capcom.

You know, honestly unlike some other games that needed a 2-d to 3-d transition. 2-D fighter games play much differently and give a different style that im sure I and other people like much more. I mean ive been on the other side of fighting games, and i find 3-D fighters horribly dull. Now all im saying is that when it comes to fighters staying 2-d is not the worse optioon possible.

While i agree that capcom may need to make a new 3-D fighting game series, they dont need to take SF from its 2-D land just to do so.

Heh. I just still find it funny that the Street Fighter series is over 15 years old and they haven't made it to 4 yet.
