I was wondering, will there be any new episodes of Time Squad? I saw a commercial on Cartoon Network, and I think I heard them say there will be. If there are, can anyone tell me when? Also, if I was a moron and missed them, let me know that too. ^_^;;

You're in luck, it's this Wednesday at 8 PM. I think it's the series finalle, right?

Wendesday's Episode Of Time Squad Is The Final and Ending Episode of Time Squad... Forever. It just didn't do that good in the ratings.... but at least it got to show all of it's episodes.... even though it took so damn long.

Wendesday's Episode Of Time Squad Is The Final and Ending Episode of Time Squad... Forever.
Which I'd like to call, "Good News For Anyone With Hated The Series" and "Bad News For People Who Liked It/Loved It/Thought It Had Potential"

At least it got to show all of it's episodes.... even though it took so damn long.
For the most part, it was scheduling reasons...and maybe this reason probably had a hand in it:

It was held back for several months apparently because it makes fun of President Bush.
If anyone's wondering, it's the current Bush, not the one from the early 1990's.

The production team has disbanded and if the severed Larry 3000 head hidden in the first episode of My Life as a Teenage Robot means anything, Dave Wasson did not have a good relationship with the higher ups at Cartoon Network Studios.
Now that could have been a coincidence. I don't think Wasson had any problems with the higher-ups...at least not for content (read: no parts were edited or toned down as per CN's request). It wasn't like John K. and Nickelodeon; this was a battle for creative control...and Wasson has lost. I wish the best to him and the others in the future and hope that My Life As A Teenage Robot doesn't suffer the same fate.

Wasson didn't have a problem with higher-ups. He had a problem with the people below him. The show collapsed on itself. CN would've continued it if they could've.

That's what I heard, thanks for confirming it. *sigh* It's a bit of a shame, though.

You also said that Time Squad was cancelled after twenty episodes (http://forums.toonzone.net/showpost.php?p=145290&postcount=21) and that the "new" episodes that showed up on TV Tome - including Golf Chumps, "which sounds like a Family Matters episode Title" - couldn't possibly exist because the production team is "FIRED AND JOB-LESS" (http://forums.toonzone.net/showpost.php?p=350885&postcount=8).

Oh wait, you knew about Golf Chumps "long before TV Tome had their crappy Time Squad section" (http://forums.toonzone.net/showpost.php?p=532662&postcount=18) and Time Squad will last twenty-three episodes (http://forums.toonzone.net/showpost.php?p=532067&postcount=11).

Never mind, it appears that Time Squad will last a full twenty-six episode, two season run.

Bringing everything you have reported about Time Squad into question.

What is this, Piss Matt Wilson Off week at Toon Zone?

I don't need to 'prove' everything I say. Especially because I don't feel like getting any of my sources in trouble.

When I reported that the show was cancelled (AND IT WAS), only 20 episodes had been completed. I had not known that 6 episodes were still being animated. It doesn't change anything.

And I read about Golf Chumps on a site that WAS NOT TV TOME that I can't remember because it was many many months ago. The same site had reported Floral Patton and that turned out to be a true episode. It's possible that some scripts were written that never got to be animated, and the titles for these scripts leaked out. Like the 20-25 Invader Zim episode titles from seasons 2 and "3" that you see across the internet.

I'm not expecting a journalist to reveal his sources, but it sounds like you're doing some revisionist history. Going from an episode that not only couldn't exist but doesn't even sound like the title of a real episode, to you knew about it even before it showed up on TV Tome sounds suspicious.

Dare we get into Kitty Bobo, which from all appearances it looks like you lied about it becoming a series in order to create buzz? LINK (http://forums.toonzone.net/showpost.php?p=72662&postcount=7), LINK (http://forums.toonzone.net/showpost.php?p=149907&postcount=47), and LINK (http://forums.toonzone.net/showpost.php?p=156361&postcount=3).

I was not the one who started the Kitty Bobo rumor. The person who had suggested it, doesn't check this board anymore. Actually, it might not even have been here that he posted at. Happened so long ago. That Cartoon Network had registered a Kitty Bobo domain somewhat added solidification to the rumor. It only made sense to report it at the time.

And what happened to the Time Squad boys is not revisionist. I just prefer to keep my mouth shut because that's how everything stays kosher.

You certainly weren't keeping your mouth shut about Golf Chumps, which was never produced. You went so far as to change your story.

Saying that something couldn't exist and doesn't even sound like a real episode and then claiming four months later that you knew about it long in advance sure sounds like revisionist history to me.

Perhaps you weren't paying attention when I already explained that. When the show was cancelled, I did not know that 6 episodes were still being animated. So when I first heard about more episodes, I said it would be impossible because the staff had disbandde. Because I did not know that 6 episodes were still being animated. And then later I did.

Thrax, I don't want to be your enemy, so why are you going out of your way to egg me on?

[QUOTE]

No. it's 'wrenchien nearly gets flattened by kids riding an out-of control YELLOW go-cart with busted brakes.' week.

happened sunday.

you don't seriously want this week to be declared that, do you? Piss Matt Wilson Off week? I wouldn't. ... seriously, i wouldn't.

... anyway, what's dave wasson up to? think he's gonna work on some new projects from now on for nick? cause he did do one project for them which was akin to aesop's fables in rocky and bullwinkle, in which he twisted a fairy tale.. not much seen, but some of his cool work is in that.

cheer up, man, at least you weren't nearly ruined by an out of control yellow go-cart.

To bad though we'll never see the Larry 3000 make a REAL crossover appearence (besides maybe a very quick visual cameo or two).

That sounds reasonable, and I don't have too much trouble believing it.

But that wasn't what I was talking about in my previous post. You completely changed your story on Golf Chumps and your explanation still sounds like revisionist history to me.

If you had simply said that the episode couldn't exist because the series was out of production (and later discover that it wasn't quite out of production yet), I might have given you the benefit of the doubt. But since you went a step further by claiming that Golf Chumps didn't even sound like a Time Squad episode title, only to do 180 four months later, I have doubts about everything you've reported about the series.

Storyboard revisionist. Probably explains how the hidden severed Larry 3000 head made it into the first episode.

if you ever see him, tell him those group of robots that jenny's been fighting lately, are very cool. and to keep it up. and also bring back that biker gang, too, from the return of raggedy android episode or whatever it's called, they're good antivirus to the sickness that is gangrene gang. :D

I gotta ask: Does Nickelodeon know that Wasson worked on CN and did Time Squad before going to Nick? If the answer's no, then maybe Nick didn't get it and that's how it got past. If the answer's yes, then...I don't know.

Oh, and Adam, if you ever see Wasson, tell him I loved both Time Squad and My Life As A Teenaged Robot (even if it is Nick's answer to Robot Jones) and as I said in an earlier post, I wish the best of luck to him and the others in the future and hope that My Life As A Teenage Robot doesn't suffer the same fate as Time Squad did.

And how am I ever going to see Dave Wasson? I live halfway across the country from him.

Okay, if you're not going to do it, I am. I'm going to be a professional screenwriter and there's always that chance I'll meet someone famous or semi-famous.

Now can we please get on topic before the mod squad closes this thread?

I think what's nice is that Dave was able to come up with a 'final' plot for the last episode, something that makes the series full circle, before the team disbanded.

Sheep in the Big City got that chance too, although they sort of did it mid-way through the first season, almost as if expecting cancellation. Mo was a smart feller.

If they could only do the same for PPG... :p

I was upset about the cancellation of Time Squad. If they make a new series, though, its got to be Captain Sturdy. When I heard of the new short(in July; The Originals) I was so excited! It would make a great show!

I can't wait for LowBrow!
