I read the scripts from the 1st 2 eps and liked it, anyway.

It's not just mindless swordplay there is a definate plot to it. interesting charecters as well.

You guys like this anime?

To get the full experience you should watch the anime and read the manga.

The anime storyline diverges from the manga storyline at around episode 61 or so.

The manga rocks after the Kyoto arc (it goes into the rememberance arc [on which the Kenshin OVA is based on] then the revenge arc).

I didn't think it was a mindless DBZ fest, I was just saying that at first glance someone might think it was "just" swordplay.

Ah, well, it's fascinating stuff, and an interesting take on the Meiji Revolution, even though it takes liberties with the historical events.

Well I did notice the fact that some people had guns, when they where outlawed in Japan for a spell, but its good.

I spent an entire summer bogarting my cousin's fansubs. . . it really did get pretty lousy after the Kyoto Arc, but up until then it was great. Easily the best "fighting" anime I've seen, and the OAV is even better.

Never made it to the manga, but I've heard nothing but good things.
