We had in Uni illustrator David Hughes come in to do a workshop. He's done work for a variety of American and UK broadsheets, and he got us doing self portraits and a sequential strip. He never saw the final thing I did, which isn't a pity as he was a very annoying man. He tried to award the three best pictures on the second day of his talk. After stressing the importance of drawing skills in illustration over computer or fine art techniques on the first day, he decided to award the top three pictures - one of which was stick men on pieces of tissue (the guy - according to Hughes - was giving his the metaphorical finger and he liked that - despite showing no skill whatsoever), a none descript strip which mimics 'King Rollo' (by mimic I mean copy) - Rune should know what show I'm referring to and the third was actually rather well done (by a friend of mine - it was an audience vote which got hers third).

He even tried to award three post-it stickers an award until someone told him they weren't submissions - just some post-its which had been stuck to that particular board for months.

He's a fine artist - pity he was an idiot. :p

Anyway, here's my strip which he never saw - thank god. :)

Silly little Brit...

Like I told you before, this is pure SJJ craziness :) Good stuff, really. I dig the simple flat coloring, and as usual your storytelling is very strong.

Ill have to reiterate our long lost French member of the trio of death :p

Yes, you do have a great sense of pacing and frame design. Nice touch to use a muted, flat color as well... Im not going to mention mood or rendering cause you know how I feel about your style :D
