It would be interesting just to some personal animosity between Bats and Supes

Interesting idea...but I doubt it. Even though Batman was more than capable to fend off Luthor's machines - well, he was doing pretty well, anyway - I don't think Superman would waste any time if there were people in need of saving. Yeah, maybe there's a bit of animosity between the two, especially then because of the Lois triangle, but when it comes down to it, Superman would put that aside to do what's the right thing - and Batman would do the same thing.
