Okay, WHO'S Goopy Geer? WHO'S Goopy Geer?

I would really like to know who this guy is really. Not to take out the fun of it, but really, WHO IS HE? When I did a trade with Jon, I got the exact same copies of "His Mouse Friday", "Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips", and "Der Fuehrer's Face" (plus many more) that appear on Goopy's site. I'm not suspecting it is Jon because a while ago, Goopy mentioned he got his copies of the pre-40 pictures from laserdiscs. Well, Jon doesn't own laserdiscs, so I'm expecting someone WITH one gave them to him. I'm not going to say a name, because I think I know who it is.....:rolleyes: Also, don't get mad at me for posting this, or I'll just cry....:(

I almost started a thread a week ago to ask the same question, but then I decided that there were reasons why that might be a bad idea.

Obvisouly, it is someone who also posts here under a different handle. Someone who really loves cartoons, and wants to make sure that other people here have access to them.

But I suspect he uses his other handle to stay anonymous and reduce his chances of getting into legal trouble. Because if you really believe that all 12 of those Bugs cartoons are "public domain" then, well.....

So I think it's best to let him keep his anonymity.

You're only 11 years old, so it's good that you are able to formulate such questions. But your youth is probably preventing you from realizing the possible harm that could come if Goopy's real identity was reveleed.

It's best to let Goopy keep his identity secret.

Well, I'd like to know too, but the consequences of the world knowing are faaaaaaaaaaaaaar worse than if it were still just a secret. I'd rather not know than have him get into legal trouble, that would be awful.

I suppose you could talk about your suspicions on private messaging, or through e-mail.

Yup, I'm in charge of Disney stuff. Maybe I should make a "Tommy Pickles Rare Cartoons Page", but probably not. The less people who know about these files, the better. I only want you guys to have them.
