Did anyone recieve their copy and if so, would you be able to tell me what sort of case it came in? Did it come in one of those white Disney Gold Collection style keep cases?
I'm only asking because I recieved all 4 Dr. Seuss classics today from an internet retailer and all came in the type of cases described above, however oddly enough, my "Grinch Grinches The Cat In The Hat" came unsealed in a strange looking black keepcase with a really different style to it than I've seen compared to any other keep cases. I'm wondering if this is how all of them were packaged because it'd be peculiar that this one would be different than all the other releases and I want to make sure I didn't recieve a used copy that the store didn't even bother to repackage properly or seal...

I never bothered buying these. $15 each for less than an hour of content and no special features is such a complete rip-off. Maybe if they had all been released on a one/two-disc set with a reasonable price I would have bought. It's too bad, I am interested in seeing these, but with these circumstances Universal is just begging for me not to buy them.

They're all more than 30 minutes worth of content, except for 'The Cat In The Hat', but given what's featured I'd say they're priced fairly reasonably. I purchased all 4 discs for under $50 and they retail for approx. $11 US per disc. The restoration is exceptional and the picture quality is absolutely incredible, these television special appear as though they could have aired last year. The audio is crystal clear as well. Plus 'The Cat In The Hat' disc comes with one free children's admission to any Universal Pictures film in theatres until January I believe and all discs come with $1 mail-in coupons for free Dr. Seuss books. So for $50 US, I recieved a total of 4 dvd's with approx. 3.5 hours worth of classic television specials that would otherwise not be seen anywhere else, 4 free Dr. Seuss books and a free movie ticket pass. That's not bad at all in context to what's featured. There wasn't much else that could've been added on to these discs, all the cartoon specials of the 70's are featured, none have been left out. Yes the extras are cheap kiddy fluff but for $11 US / dvd, you can't expect to recieve in-depth documentaries and commentaries, etc. I doubt any would even exist and to be honest, not many people would pay $50 + on a collector's set of these specials as they appeal mainly to children and their moms. We are in the minority here. Anyways, here's the running times, you should definitely look around and try to get these for a bargain because they are definitely worth it to own. Check Ebay or consider picking them up from Video Universe for only $10.95, the value far outweights the price of these discs...
