Do you guys think that the people who do the voices for a more realistic and mature comic book superhero think of them that way? Do you think they have respect for the character going in, or that they maybe find it after playing the part for a while? Just wondering.

I'm not sure whether they have a preconcieved notion about cartoons not being serious. Maybe prior to BTAS. But I figure people working on STAS and BB knew that these weren't your regular kiddie shows.

I don't think an actor/actress could put this amount of energy into a character they didn't believe in. Maybe not the guest stars or smaller roles but certainly for the big guns the emotion that is conveyed in the voice must come from a certain respect for the character. If you think about how hard it must be to act only through your voice and how much the cast add to the animation ... they must admire their characters to some degree .... or maybe we admire them so much that we hope they do too

I think that alot of the actors and actresses who lend their voices to animation, and not just superhero shows, do so because they love the form. And they see the project from the inside, and if that's not enough to convince them that the show or movie they are lending their voice to is more than kiddie fodder, than I doubt nothing will.

It probably depends on the actor/actress and whatever shaped/inspired their interests.
