Has anybody seen this brilliant animated feature from France?http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/otn/confused/OOooh.gif

I got the DVD last week and watched the first fourty minutes last night and plan on watching the rest of it today. I fell asleep, but it is nothing against the movie, I just stayed up too late posting messages on these boards!! http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/contrib/AoErat/awink.gif

It is a movie about a race of aliens who bring humans to their planet and keep them as pets. VERY intriguing movie. The animation is a little stiff and almost looks Monty Python esque in certain areas (the humans are tiny creatures compared to the aliens, so when the humans are seen with just the hands of the aliens, it reminds me of Monty Python) but I guarantee that there is not another movie like it. If you enjoy good original movies like Iron Giant and Princess Mononoke, then this might be up your alley!! http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/contrib/splarka/as-spin.gif

Ive been wantin to see this film for quite some time now, ever since I first heard about it through VIBE magazine describing the dope soundtrack it has. The VHS tape of it was actually on sale out my local Wal-mart (Wal-mart??) but too bad I didnt get paid that day to pick it up.

Saw it way back when (sometime in the 70s, around the time of I saw Zardoz)--and again, I think in the late eighties. I wasn't hugely impressed with it, beyond the fact that it was a more adult treatment of animation. I recall the animation as a bit ugly, but the characters and story didn't stick with me. I've got to love characters to reallyl like a movie, animated or not.

I finished watching this last night. I agree that the characterization is a bit off. I was thinking today that this is one movie they could do a remake of and actually improve upon it by developing the characters a little more and exploring the world created in that movie more. I think this could have actually made a good series on TV, if done right. But this movie was quite intriguing, and a sequel or an update of it some how would be something I'd like to see.
