I recall seeing in one of the previews for Season 2 a feminine-looking megadeus that fires a laser beam from its eyes. Has this episode aired? And if so, what was this megadeus?

I don't know what it looks like but that might be the one you're thinking of.

I believe that was the Glinda (sp?) robot was in an episode that already aired. Big O took her out when it first used it's arm Gattling Gun. That was a nice sight to see.

The moves I remember that megadeus doing: Real nice drop kick. Also it busted out this collapsable sword. It looked nasty, but Big O took it out with one punch.

During that same episode, you would have witnessed Alan using his golden gun. Alan actions would have impressed any Counterstrike or EA's Battlefield 1942 fan!

The episode did air, I think it was Ep. 15 or 16. It was basicly just a pilotless giant robot that was there for Big O to fight. I don't think it had any importance to the story though.

I thought it was hilarious. One of the best looking megadeuces, and Big O takes it out with one attack.

There were a few.

The Megadeus that Beck had Dorothy imprisoned in was called 'Dorothy' as well I believe.

Beck's Megadeus was called Beck Victory Deluxe. (it sucked hard, couldn't even pop out of the ground properly when he called it, and its lasers just bounced off Big O).

The Gestalt megadeus had a name too, but I can't remember it. They spent like 10 minutes with it transforming and doing all these wacky poses, only to have Big O blast it in one shot.

Instro's Megadeus had a name. Can't remember it either. It was the megadeus that used shock waves to attack.

The Sea Titan. Had missiles and an anchor arm (looked like a 'naval' megadeus) but Big O pinned it against a building and beat the snot out of it.

I dug up where I got "Glinda" from. Here is the info from an old Big O thread.

....
For the first time, I was actually a bit disappointed in the robot battle. You see, one of the things that I've always liked about Big O is that the giant robots really seem to have a "weight" to them. Whereas other series (I'm looking at you, Gundam) have multi-story, multi-ton giant robots zipping around like nobody's business, even within Earth's atmosphere, the robots in Big O lumber around and swing their arms in wide arcs as though they really DO weigh what they should. Of course, then we get last night's battle with Glinda (as named by the AS.com ep guide), where the 'deus was leaping tall Big O's in a single bound and jumping around with the greatest of ease. But then, this particular robot appears to have been built intentionally slim and nimble, and judging by clips in the promos, it's not going to happen again. So I can deal.

Hey, thanks! I always wondered where everyone is getting the names. Maybe some sort of naming scheme will become evident once we have learned a few more.

At http://www.paradigm-city.com/robots , we have profiles for each of the robots from season 1, as well. (Season 2 coming soon!) We got the names from the official site and the Big O art book. :)
