Since there's no Enterprise talkback yet, I'll start one.
The season premier shows off a somewhat revamped title song. I was perfectly fine with the original, but this new one has a faster tempo to it, thus making the title sequence seem faster. Whatever works I guess.
We start with the Evil Council of the Xindi, the aliens who barbequed a good portion of Florida last season not too happy with the human vessel trolling around the area, but deciding to continue laying low until their ultimate weapon is ready. These guys look good. There is the usual group of guys in makeup, but a few other CGI aliens who are very well presented, espicially the insect fella.
We also find out that Enterprise has been in the expanse for six weeks and have already experienced some wierdness as told by Archer and Trip watching cargo containers fly around in a cargo bay.
"Is there any volatile materials in there?"
"If there were, we'd have found out by now."
Other highlights include the new marines kicking butt, a 22'nd century sniper rifle, and topless T'Pol!!
I liked what I saw tonight, and the preview for next episode has Archer getting very unpleasant in his search for info on the Xindi.

Four main things about the show -
1. T'Pol looks hot in her new outfit.
2. The T'Pol-Trip subplot was stupid and seemed only there to show off some Vulcan T&A. It also looks like the creators r looking to force feed an eventual romance between the two. I hope not.
3. The Xindi council looks like Count Dooku should be in charge of it. Im serious, between the CGI aliens, the funky language and the background, it looked like a scene of "Attack of the Clones".
4. Alien gets killed just as he's about to help the Enterprise out. How typical. Anybody else see this one coming a mile away? I wouldve preferred he were to stick around long enough to learn about whats happening between Earth and the Xindi, then die.
But i do give the episode a thumbs up over-all.

Good start. They have earned a 'stay of execution' from me.
A few things:
-The space marine guys were cool when they were fighting, but not impressive. I wanted the battle to shock me into realizing how tough they were. Also, they were too friendly with Hoshi. I wanted them to be surly and distant. Cold. Yes, cold-hearted even. I wanted them to show their dark side a little. I wanted them to be mean.
-The Xindi council was cool enough. They had Tucker Smallwood (he's awesomeawesome (http://www.tuckersmallwood.com)).
-Yeah, the T'Pol thing was stupid. If they want to turn this into a good show, they should start by not having any of the major characters fall in love with each other. No relationships. A little sexual tension can be fine, but that's it.
-I was kind of glad that one Xindi was killed. Now we don't have to watch Archer struggle over whether or not to let him go. Archer had no choice but to be tough. If that guy had survived, Archer would have turned into a wimp again.
Wow, I'm actually looking forward to next week.

Maybe just me, but T'Pol looked like Denny Siegel in her red outfit.
I wonder what they did with the old one. And where'd this new outfit come from, and why did T'Pol switch uniforms?
I love spotting plotholes.

Well her old outfit was a Vulcan uniform. I didnt catch the rerun of last seasons finale last week, but didnt she resign from the Vulcan council (or whatever its called) in it? She'd have no real reason to wear the uniform of an organization she's no longer affiliated with. And i dont think Archer would have the power to give her a spot promotion to Starfleet Commander (and i think any lower rank would effect the established chain of command). So she couldnt wear the same uniform as the Earth officers. But then again im not too familiar with military protocol.
By the way, despite my statement in my earlier post, i did like the look and feel of the Xindi council. Especially the CGI aliens. But it still felt like something more fit to Star Wars then Star Trek.

The tempo of the theme music didn't change. It just sounds more like a hokey country song. At least the last one had some rock themes that made it dramatic.
It's official that T'Pol = 7 of 9. No longer Vulcan (she did resign from the council, BTW), but not human either. What was the point of her "seducing" Trip like that anyhow?
That council building the huge weapon better lead to the creation of the Federation, or I'm done with this show. It's not that Enterprise sucks (which it does), it's that there is nothing new to offer. TNG had style, DS9 was diplomatic and stationary, Voyager explored the truly unknown, but every direction this show takes has been done already. Create the Federation, already. It's the one storyline that anyone on that show hasn't bothered with, and it's getting annoying.
Later.

i really do hope the xindi's defeat is what starts the federation. cause i have my doubts that even with their changes, it'll be same old same old unless they do.
because i'd have preferred to see more of the andorians and their legends, as well as more on the tholians .
btw any idea what the tholians look like according to the up-to-date cgi they can do now?

If they were trying to push this episode as the showcase of a change in direction, I don't see it. Not to complain, as I'm one of probably few that actually liked how the show was. But, still, the whole "Archer and Trip Get Kidnapped, Enterprise Has To Save Them" plot has been done more than once before.
I do like that they changed the appearance of T'Pol. I like that it shows that she's offically no longer a viewed member of the Vulcans, but that she still respects them, and doesn't wear the uniform of a group she's no longer with.
Other than that, fairly good episode. Not the best, not the worst.
