Looks like Paramount is going to keep the same style and design of the previous South Park releases, thankfully. I got the following image at www.tvshowsondvd.com:

The set will also have the same sort of episode intros that came with Seasons 1 and 2.

Those intros aren't even on the last disc of the 2nd season set.

All the stuff that would have interesting commentaries, don't. Family Guy, South Park. I wonder why....

You would think Matt Stone and Trey Parker would have great commentary tracks for the South Park sets too since they did such a good job with Cannibal: The Musical.

Hey, it's going to have the "making fun of PokeMon" episode! I recently bought seasons 1 & 2 and season 3 will be mine too!

You need to listen to the Clerks: TAS commentary if you don't think that ANYTHING that would have interesting commentaries does. (-:

But anyway I understand the Family Guy Vol. 2 commentaries are uncensored, so maybe those are a little more interesting than the lackluster commentaries on Vol. 1.

(Makes me wonder what exactly was censored out of the Vol. 1 commentaries, since they swore all they wanted and none of that was censored. Heh heh, they probably insulted the hell out of Fox for cancelling them.)

I got Clerks the Animated Series, and it's probably the only DVD where I've listened to the commentary twice. The Simpsons and Futurama also do a good job. But I mean Family Guy and South Park pushed TV to the limits and their creators are so funny. I want more!

Episode. Singular. ONE episode WAS censored. Specifically, there was a single scene cut. Yes, it sucks any time anything gets censored, but don't make it out to be worse than it is.

Sorry, but you're wrong about this! Don't make this look better than it is.

First off there’s the famous Bin Laden scene that was taken out from both R1 and R2 DVDs! It's in the episode “Road to Rhode Island” and the joke is VERY funny (and pre 911).

When Stewie takes his weapons to the plane after distracting airport security by dancing, he says “God I hope Osama Bin Laden doesn’t know show tunes". Next shot is Bin Laden dancing and distracting them while his luggage full of weapons passes through.

In ep 103 "Chitty Chitty Death Bang"!! They censored the "Seig Heil" chants at the end just before Stewie blows out the candles!!! Here is how all the marching and Seig Heiling sounds in all its glory!!

iceworld2.netfirms.com/censored_family_guy.zip

Also gone from both R1 and R1

Then there's the JFK Pez getting shot in ep 105 "A Hero Sits Next Door" that was taken out. But this actually made R2!!

shot of JFK iceworld2.netfirms.com/jfk.jpg

And who knows that else was taken out that we don’t know about (review sties only mentioned Bin Laden)

Sorry, I never saw those other two episodes on Fox so I wasn't aware of the edits. So we've got two fairly major changes and one VERY minor one (the Stewie's birthday wish thing). But anyway this is getting really off topic so I'm going to drop it now.

Meanwhile....

I'm very glad that Paramount is going to be sticking with the same packaging style as the first two season-- if we have to settle for crappy cardboard box sets, at least they should be crappy cardboard box sets with a consistent look. (-:

Hell yeah. So consistent that the title on the spine is upside down like seasons 1 and 2.

I was wondering if Paramount would keep the same scheme, even the reversed spine text, and it's good to know they will. I'm looking forward to this release! www.animatedbliss.com even put up a bit of extra info:

"Cartman's Silly Hate Crime 2000" is the 4th season premiere.

The one where they begin their own church is actually a two-parter, "Do The Handicapped Go to Hell?" and "Probably", also in the 4th season.

"It Hits the Fan" is the second episode of season 5, after the brilliantly twisted "Scott Tenorman Must Die".

You can see why I posted above about season 4, that's the season the show started to hit its stride.

Because they're just episode intros ...same type found on Seasons 1&2.

I liked the intros on the season one set. The whole "Indian Companion" gig was funny.

"Say hi to Indian Companion ya'll!"

"Someone coming!" :D
