I did this with Ed, Edd n Eddy, so now, I'm going to do it with Courage!

PILOT (1996)
Courage: More of a lavendar color.
Zig-zag on nose constantly changing postitions.
Body structure different.
Deeper voice.
Muriel: Didn't talk
different body structure.
Eustace: Didn't talk (except for saying ooga booga booga)
different body structure.
Other: Animation wasn't computer generated.
Music style was a little different.

FIRST SEASON (1999-2000)
Courage: Now pink.
zig-zag on nose stayed in one spot
Voice was a little nasal in the first couple of episodes.
Talked the most.
Muriel: Started talking.
Rare use of vinegar recipes.
Inside of her mouth was red, while tongue was orange.
Eustace: Started talking as well/
Slightly higher voice in first two episodes.
More love of his truck.
Dr. Vindaloo: Brown tongue.
Ma: Wasn't a villain.
Katz: Used the most in this season.
Other: Opening theme included: Robot Randy, Mummy, Schwik, McPhearson Phantom, Carmen, and a banana on TV.
Ending sequence had Courage holding up a spray-painted THE END sign.

SECOND SEASON (2000-2002)
Courage: Talked less.
Muriel: More use of her vinegar recipe.
tongue turned red, and inside mouth turned orange.
More adventurous.
Eustace: More love for money.
Wanted to become rich more and more.
Less care for others.
Dr. Vindaloo: No more brown tongue.
Used most in the season.
Ma: Became a villain!
Used the most in this season.
Nowhere Newsman: First appearance in color in "Mega Muriel the Magnificent"
Other: Opening theme included: Magic Tree, Violin girl, Stone creature, Dr. Zalost, Brain Alien, and Harvest Moon Spirit on TV.
Ending sequence had Courage bowing in a circle, propped up by Muriel and Eustace, who were standing on a platform that said "THE END".
Season 2 had a lost episode. This episode was "The Tower of Dr. Zalost". Cartoon Network planned to air "Tower of Zalost" on November 2, 2001, but instead, they aired "Evil Weevil; McPhearson Phantom." Then after season 3 aired, CN finally aired "The Tower of Dr. Zalost" on January 11, 2002.
Billie Lou Watt, the voice actress of Ma died on 9-7-01.

THIRD SEASON (2002)
Courage: Talked just a little more, but not near as much is season 1.
Starting throwing up more.
Muriel: Even more use (and dislike) of her vinegar recipe.
Eustace: New voice actor in middle of season.
More desire for food.
Dr. Vindaloo: Used frequently.
Ma: Last appearance in "Scuba-Scuba Doo".
Shirley: Used the most in this season.
Turned from yellowish to lime green.
Other: Opening theme included: Valkyrie, Vustavockvavock Jurius, King of Flan, Scarecrow, The Stitch Sisters, and Mecha-Courage on TV.
Ending sequence had a 3-D Courage bowing.

FOURTH SEASON (2002)
Courage: Talked less.
Did more acts of bravery.
Muriel: Got in more arguments with Eustace.
Less use of vinegar recipes.
Most adventurous.
Eustace: More of a villain.
More competitive
Le Quack: Used the most in this season.
Other: Opening Theme included: Evil Chineze Emporess, Windmill Vandals, Swamp Man, Paper Silhouette maker, Beaver, Dr. Orbison's House.
Ending sequence stayed the same.

MECHANDISE
Summer 2001: Puffy magnet from Pop Tart Boxes.
Summer 2002: Bendy Keychain from Coppertone Sunscreen bottles.
Summer 2003: Set of 5 toys from Subway/Belly Washer Bottles.

Actually Muriel did use a vinegar reciepe in "Shirley The Medium" which was a Season One Episode. You Should also Muriel was less gulliable in Season One and more adventerous in the later seasons.

Uh... I don't think the show really changed too much. Characters started talking once it became a series (after the pilot) and the animation quickly improved as the series continued. I didn't see any changes in the characters.

Muriel got pregressivly dumber,I noticed.

No offesne to Courage fans but aside from Courage the Cowardly Dog's artwork the show was pretty mediocre. Every episode seemed to go something like this...

1) Villain comes
2) Muriel is in danger
3) Courage must save her
4) Eustace says "stupid dog"

There were a few episode where that wasn't the plot, but most are like that. I too saw few changes other than artwork and characters talking.
