American Title: "A New Era of Heroic Legends"
Japanese Title: "Revive! Heroic Legend" [Yomigaere! Eiyuu Densetsu]

So, right off the bat we notice that the titles are at least close enough that there's no point in complaining.

Edit:
- Theme song changed (obviously) from "Pegasus Fantasy" to "I Ran". I was kinda hoping for an English version of Pegasus Fantasy ala the Sailor Moon theme song, but, oh well. I'll live. (It would be hard to work around the "Saint Seiya" in the chorus, though, so I guess it's understandable)
- All the original BGM is gone. Honestly, I can't say much for what they replaced it with (generic rock), but that's just me...

- The original scene with the city crumbling is replaced by "Sienna" talking to a picture of her grandfather and explaining what's happening.
- For some odd reason, they've decided to color all the blood blue, making Seiya and Co look like aliens or something.

Addition:
- Sound is added to the Pegasus constellation.
- Pope is made to be more menacing, and shows obvious bias in what he calls Seiya and Cassios.

Edit
- Lots of cuts in the Cassios fight. The scene with Seiya being bullied is cut to avoid showing Cassios being uncommonly cruel. The bit with Cassios's ear is also censored...there's just a lot of blue...stuff...on the side of his face.
- Almost all the impacts are cut.
- No talk of Cosmo. Instead they talk about vague things like "Pegaus Power" and "power coming from the stars"
- Marin's "Focus on a single point" changed to "Believe in yourself, blah blah blah..."
- "Channeling the power of Pegasus" instead of noting that Seiya's hands are tracing the constellation itself.

Addition:
- Okay, I'll admit to laughing about the whole "Maybe I'll just lean on it and look cool" line.
- Various bits of dialogue added to the chase scene.

Edit:
- "Thunder Cobra" instead of "Thunder Claw"
- No mention of the high voltage of Shaina's attack.

Addition:
- Cheesy battle quips. "Horsepower" Oh well.
- "I really hate snakes."

Edit:
- Didn't refer to the Cloth box as a "Pandora's Box"
- Stepping on Seiya cut out to just show his hands and face.
- Talk of "not being able to go all out against a woman" with some sort of filler dialogue.

Addition:
- After Seiya beats up the guards, Marin says "Yes!"
- Shaina says "I don't believe it!"
- And Seiya says "Stand back! I'm waaarning yooou!" Originally, this was all silent.
- The original sound of Seiya's attack is changed.

Edit:
- The part where it actually shows Seiya hitting the guys the first time is cut. (So, basically, Seiya runs towards them, then it cuts to a short of his Ryuuseiken, no shot of the bit where it shows the impact) Because of this, we don't hear dub-Seiya actually say his attack. Unless the name of his attack is "AAAAHHHhhhh..." Also,if they can't even show a Ryuuseiken hitting a few guys in a completely bloodless manner, I fear for future episodes.

Addition:
- Shaina yells about her mask being broken. In the original, she just thought about it, after a moment of dramatic silence.
- A lot of added dialogue. "Shaina, what's wrong? You look surprised...Hey, I think I'm getting the hang of this Cloth thing." That definitely was not there in the original.

Edit:
- No mention of him saying he though that Shaina would look more like a demon. The "you look cute" was retained, though.
- "Sounds like fun. See ya around." In the original, Seiya states that he does not want to fight her again.
- Asking Marin to take off her mask is changed slightly.

Ah, it's been a while since I've seen edits this heavy. No wonder why ADV chose to make their dub separate from DiC's.

You know, if they dubbed this to modern standards (and not use DIC) they could of had less edits. Aside from that obvious statement, I'm just saddened on how some people thought this show could of been a "middleground" one.

Here ya go. Have Fun guys...

Dumb question. Are those CGI clips that are displayed during a transition in between scenes originally there?

Helen855244, thank you for the edit list.

I didn't watch KotZ, but damn, DiC sure does know to do a Hell of a hack job (like they did to Salior Moon).

Now let's see what would have happened had, say, FUNi had gotten it.

Oh, yeah. It would've been called Saint Seiya, had the original bg music, no blue blood, most - if not all - of the action left intact, the original theme song dubbed, and no stupid CGI clips!

WHY did DIC, of all companies, have to get another anime?!!?

Just curious: Have they done anything to the green-haired kid, like change him into a girl? (DiC did this to Zoicite in their Sailor Moon "drub", and I wouldn't put it past 'em to do just that!)

Anyways from what I've been reading, I think I'm gonna sit it out 'till the uncut Saint Seiya comes out on DVD...I don't want to watch that show...or any other anime...any other way!

"Badly butchered anime is t eh suck (Did I use this phrase correctly?)"

No, as proven by Dic's website knightsofthezodiac.com Shun is still a boy.

Good choice, I assure you you won't regret it.

Um, you know, I really don't particularly mind if you post my edit list here, but it might be nice for you to actually give me credit. That and at least TELL me when you plan to post it somewhere else.

(Other than that, I'm rather flattered, but I still wouldn't be adverse to a bit of credit for my work)

I'll just start linking directly to your postings at gamefaqs.com, under the header, anytime you may wish in the future to create anymore edit lists for any episode. I would have prefered to have prepared one myself that night, but, I was far too exhausted from studying the night before to do so. Finding your list just proved to be a convenience for me at the time.

No hard feelings

Oh no, I'm really not upset at all. Like I said, I was more flattered than anything else.

Once again, if anyone here has a passing intrest in this show, buy the DVD's.

Yep, no way SVES is gonna allow the truly violent scenes to go uncut or unedited or not toned down (e.g. blue blood).
