if they can show softcore porn on comedy central, i know they can show LT, MM, and MGM cartoons uncut. I'm sure yall have seen TV Funhouse on Comedy Central, they have everything from pornography to racism on that show. And the time slot is definitely out of kids reach. So i know, that they can put uncut Tex Avery cartoons, and WW2 cartoons on real late and no one could be offended, because they would be asleep.

Also, there are many places where the censored cartoons could be shown, but they just don't choose to do it, maybe they think Looney Tunes is "kiddie stuff", I mean, even BBNTN is somewhat tame when compared to South Park and the uncut Magical Miestro is perfectly unoffensive when compared to TV Funhouse, and WB claims that if those cartoons are shown, Bugs Bunny will have a soiled Reputaion.

Or, suppose we all left Comedy Central out of this and began to request a block of uncensored classic cartoons on Turner Classic Movies (for instance, as "One-Reel Wonders") instead?

Spike Lee wanted to use a clip of All This and Rabbit Stew with Bugs Bunny in "Bamboozled", but he was denied to right to use the clip...because Bugs is a "good guy" and that could tarnish his image.

Well, I think the fact that he's the wise-ass in Tortaise Beats Hare, Tortaise Wins By a Hare, and What's Cookin' Doc shows that he's a little stinker!

I think the one-shot racial cartoons have a better chance...since many are really good ( I have yet to see Coal Black.)

WB could make a big chunk of change by releasing a "Racial Toons" DVD with everything from Bugs Bunny Nips The Nips to Coal Black.

Who's going to complain? People who don't support pornography simply don't buy it. So if one doesn't support the racial toons, the worst they can do to WB is not buy the product.

The thing I find weird about the Spike Lee thing is that "All This And Rabbit Stew" is public domain!! Bugsy is trademarked and they can control him "seven ways to Sunday", but that particular cartoon was fair game... Likely he didn't want to make big enemies at Warners (which WOULD affect his future film-making career). To live and film another day...

Warners did the morally right thing in dumping ownership in a record company that specialized in gangsta-rap (I know I've just angered somebody with that:)). They lost a fair amount of money doing it, but came out as the good-guys... But the cartoons are at the VERY core of the company, they CAN NOT dump them!! And the "racial cartoons" are not the work of minor-leaguer directors (like King or Hardaway) which would go unmissed buuuuut of the bonafide creative geniuses Tex Avery, Bob Clampett, Friz Freleng, and Chuck Jones. As such throwing the toons in the stinkin' vault and swallowing the key is virtually a crime against society, history, and comedy!!! And THAT is morally irresponsible!!

I was just thinking, wouldn't "Bugs Bunny Nips The Nips" be the perfect cartoon to release with "Pearl Harbor"?

You are right though, WB owes a lot to those geniuses, who'd know what WB was without the cartoons? because of those, that shield is instantly recognized by millions, and the WB cartoon stars have made money continuously since the 1930s! Try and say that about any live action movie WB has ever made.
