In 1995, Disney released a short film starring Mickey as a monster, Does anyone ever emeber this, it's the greatest!

I do remember it. It was played before A KID IN KING ARTHUR'S COURT and later GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE. It will be on the upcoming Mickey Mouse in Living Color Vol. 2 DVD set this December.

I've heard it's good, but haven't seen it. Hopefully it will be in its original aspect ratio on DVD, whether or not it was made in widescreen or made in full screen and matted I do not know, but whichever is correct I hope shows up on the DVD!

I remember seeing it, and even though the animation was cool, I thought that overall, it was pretty "meh". Regardless, I wish that Disney would make more animated shorts to put in front of their and other movies, in lieu of some trailers and, more importantly, non-trailer advertisements.

I remember seeing it in the theatres, and it played before the movie George of the Jungle. It didn't really make too much of an impact with me, but it was entertaining enough. And like Tim said, I'd rather see that than ads or trailers or whatever.

I saw it when it was brand new when it premiered along with "The Goofy Movie", it's an actually enjoyable cartoon and funny at some points. Best moment: Mickey playing "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" on the SNES. :D

I caught Runaway Brain when it was shown on the Disney Channel and managed to tape it. It would be the only time that short was ever shown there so I can consider myself lucky on that account. As far as I know, it has never been released on video, though it may be on the Mickey Mouse In Color 2 DVD which is due this December

It has been released on tape, here in Latin America at least. It's an official video entitled "Los Grandes Éxitos de Mickey" ("Mickey's Greatest Hits") but I don't know what the equivalent is in the US.

It's an official video entitled "Los Grandes Éxitos de Mickey" ("Mickey's Greatest Hits") but I don't know what the equivalent is in the US.Our equivalent was titled "The Spirit of Mickey". It dropped RUNAWAY BRAIN— and added a whole bunch of good, but poorly chosen cartoons in which Donald and Pluto did all the funny stuff. Pretty lame tribute to Mickey Mouse.

Yeah, and only one B&W cartoon. Then again, the "Spirit of Mickey" video was aimed at kids.

Yeah, and only one B&W cartoon. Then again, the "Spirit of Mickey" video was aimed at kids. And so was "Mickey's Greatest Hits"... (actually its real English title on the UK release— no RUNAWAY BRAIN on it there either, though).
In all its worldwide variants, "Mickey's Greatest Hits"/"Spirit of Mickey" features cartoons without their original titles, buffered by quasi-new wraparound footage (in fact resynced character animation from old shorts, superimposed over new backgrounds).

Actually I own the UK release and Runaway Brain is on there. I think I bought it in 1997. From the top of my head I recall it also contained Steamboat Willie (no teats scene) The Band Concert, The Sorceror's Apprentice, Mickey's Rival, Mickey's Trailer, Lend A Paw and the aforementioned Runaway Brain. I believe I heard it's now out of print, at least in the UK.

Actually I own the UK release and Runaway Brain is on there.Aargh. It's the German release ("Mickys Grösste Hits") that leaves RUNAWAY BRAIN out. Always keep your mice numbered to avoid making mistakes like mine...

I remember seeing the ads for it when I was a little kid. For some reason the ad scared me... Weird...

The version on the U.K "Mickey's Greatest Hits" video cuts out the opening titles which include some animation, aswell as the end credits. I also taped this short from the U.K Disney Channel it didn't have the end credits, but it did have the opening titles. I'll be glad to own this on DVD, this is DEFINITELY going to be on "Mickey in Living Color 2", right?

I actually really liked this short, my main complaint was that it seemed maybe a bit too short, I'd of liked it to have been a couple of minutes longer. The whole thing seemed a bit sudden to me! Javeman, did you notice, during the clip of the Snow White video game, the tomb stones of Happy, Grumpy and all the dwarfs except Dopey along the bottom of the screen?!

Yes I did, quite a funny gag actually. Apparentely Dopey was Mickey's last try at the game. :p

I don't think so. The only time I've ever seen it on TDC was during the "Gotta Be the Shorts" marathon they did a while back. Can you tell me which episde it was on?

Oh .. and did anyone else catch the "Exorcist" tribute as Mickey stands in from of Dr. Frankenollie's house? Or catch the meaning of Dr. Frankenollie's name?

I'm not sure because I don't follow the show nor have I ever seen more than 3 episodes but I can assure you that this aired on HOM because I live in Canada (Montreal) and until very recently when I purchased a dish (aaprox. 8 months ago), I never had access to TDIS from my television, nor any other cartoon networks which would air Disney short subjects and I did see this cartoon.

I am pretty sure it was a Saturday morning and due to the fact that I didnt have satelite at my house and wasn't as avid a cartoon follower as I am today, I wasn't even aware that HOM existed and was extremely surprised to see the classic Disney characters on my television screen. I was glued to the show with mixed feelings of the new shorts and than I caught this Mickey Mouse cartoon which really opened my eyes... to this day it is the only time I have ever seen this short and the only explanation I can conclude as result of this, was that it must have been on an early episode of House Of Mouse, unless you can think of any other cable network channels that would have aired this on a Saturday morning?

I remember seeing the small ad about it but I never got the chance to see it.
