I don't know what to think. It's totally legitimate-looking; I don't think Amazon.com would be selling bootleg DVDs as a featured item.

Now, I've heard that you absolutely CAN'T get this kind of deal anymore without bootlegs. What do you think?

Yeah, I ordered it a couple months ago. Totally legit, of course. I actually bought it because I'd been duped into purchasing a bootleg. This is the real deal.
Though apparently some other anime site has a better deal I read about that's also legit. If I find the name of that site, I'll post it here.

100% real. I actually got it for $10 less with a coupon (it's expired now BTW).

The set is about 40% cheaper than buying them individually; I don't know why it wouldn't seem legit. I suppose it's a little cheaper than usual, but you don't get a box.

It's all those "new and used copies from $25" on Amazon Marketplace that are bootleg :)

Yeah, the Amazon.com deal is legit, but the only way to get the limited edition box nowadays is through eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3339074234&category=41524&rd=1).

Who cares about boxes? Boxes are for homeless people.

Cool... I gotta get that!

I was suspicious because I NEVER see CB DVDs anymore for less than $23 each (and that's the absolute minimum), and the boxed set is always $200 (which, assuming each DVD is $30, is actually $20 more than buying them individually). But of course, this is Amazon.com, not eBay or something.

That's a nice deal. Wish I would've seen it before I bought my set.

Just wondering, does anyone know about those New & Used ones (with the 3 discs) they're selling on there? My friend bought one, and I suppose it's all right... doesn't look shoddy or anything, had nice audio and subtitles... I just want to know if I get to berate her for buying more bootlegs or not.

That's a bootleg. Amazon.com doesn't know much about what individuals are using its site to sell.

And you do? No offense, but what knowledge could you possibly have to tell that this is a bootleg that amazon does not?

Yep, great deal on amazon. Its been like that for a LONG time. Tis old news, but also very cool news. ;)

He's talking about the 3-DVD sets that people are selling in Amazon's zShops, which is like their version of eBay. The only official DVD releases of the full series have been on no less than 6 DVDs.

I'd get it if I were you. Too bad I can't, I paid full price for each and every one of the DVDs. But I have all of it, so I'm good.

the 3-dvd sets are called HK-dvds, meaning they are bootlegs from HK wich normally run pretty darn cheap, and fit about 8 or 9 ep.s a dvd. (what you get is engrish subs, bad picture and quality loss, and a lot more problems of the like.).
While i would say they are illegal and do not condone them, the good thing about a few of the series on HK-dvd,(as with the CB ones) is that they actually just rip the official dubbed ep.s on to 9 episode dvds.

like said they are illegal and not worth spending money on anyways.

Did you link to that page to brag that you won the auction?

$265? Insane.

Not really. It sold for $200 originally, and it's a collector's item and all now. It's not uncommon for them to go as high as $350 or more.
