I thought Iraq was suppose to be rebuilt not bankrupt them.

Lawsuits know no boundaries in U.S. (http://www.torontostar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=thestar/Layout/Article_Type1&c=Article&cid=1059862507346&call_pageid=968332188854&col=968350060724)

It's supposed to be rebuilt by money earned in their restarted oil industry. I hardly believe we Americans should pay everyone's bills for them and still be expected to honor our own international debts.

Has this ever been done before in past wars? If there's no precedent for this sort of action being taken, then I think Iraq shouldn't have to pay a dime. How is paying the US a billion dollars going to help their country get up on its feet after everything dies down?

I feel bad for the soldiers captured in the first Gulf War, but they did volunteer to fight for their country. They knew all these things were possible before they joined the army. They deserve recognition, but not money taken from another country. The US has no right to take money from Iraq. They chose to invade (without UN consent) so other than for reconstruction in Iraq, the US shouldn't touch Iraqi money or oil.
