This really bugged the hell out of me. why no bat fighting along side the other justice leaguers and stuff?? hell, even a shot or two from he batcave or the jla headquarters, something. Okay, we got a few pages w/ the bat in "world's finest: owaw #1", and the so-so "batman: owaw#1" (im sorry, after stas, i cant stand to see lex in that purple suit, it makes me queezy). But thats it. the 2 batman owaw tie-ins werent all that, given the real action was being handled by superman, wonderwoman, green lanter, etc... I know batman doesnt have superpowers, but still, if robin can be out in space, so can batman. i normally dont like batman being involved w/ such extreme alien matters, but, in such a big even, batman should have played a bigger role. i cant picture bruce just sitting back and doing nothing. seriously, just because he doesnt have powers isnt a good enough reason for me.

plus, on a side note, does anyone know how the other heros, like super, ww, and gl, breath in space? im sure theres a simple answer, but....i dont know it.

so anyway, who agrees? they had like every dc hero making appearences in almost all the titles, and batman was no where to be seen, not even drawn in the background of any of the books the way lesser heros like captain marvel aka shazam and gl and steel, etc, were. what do you guys think?

Well, Bats also had an appearance in JLA: OWAW while pulling a spaceship out of a building, saying Gotham comes first. I agree that he did not have a large role, but he was keeping an eye on Gotham.

Superman learned to hold his breath for a LOOOONNNGGG time while training with Mongul in SUPERMAN 151-153. As for the others, I guess GL put some sorta shield around them, but the artist failed to include it.

And Steel is not a "lesser" hero. He's a big Superman character, and this was a Superman event. He played an enormous role which had been set up for months. And GL's a cosmic guy, he was needed here. And I can't remember, did Cap really do anything?

I'm sort of glad. Batman isn't a cosmic hero. he's a down to earth gritty hero. He should be fighting crimes on roof tops and back alleys, not in outer space. I was glad for his minimal involvement in OWAW. The two issue tie in in BATMAN sorta took away from the story. I will admit his OWAW special was spectacular.
