Nah, he just crushed the Beck Victory Special's head. He didn't hurt Beck or his goons, it's not his style. Plus, without Beck, it would have been harder for him to clear his name in that ep.

Yeah, I realize it's not really his style, but... the way it was done, it SEEMED like they were killed. You have Big O crushing Beck Victory Deluxe's head, Beck and his goons screaming... then cut immediately to Dastun crushing a paper cup.

Then with the way they looked after Roger dropped the remains of the head before Dastun... They just really LOOKED dead. So for two years I've been thinking that they WERE dead. ^^;;

Can't agree more. That was very shocking to see :D And I love the new MegaDeus designs, from what we saw. I just hope they keep this as all the footage they show us, I'd prefer to know as little as possible about the next 13 episodes (although I heard something about the final episode that might have spoiled the whole thing for me, I hope I heard wrong).

Holy Crap.

Watching that promo (and not knowing it was going to be shown, so it was a nice surprise), I had great flashbacks to Toonami's finer promos. Remember that awesome 2-minute Gundam Wing ad? I was totally getting the same vibe. And it's been a long time since I've been that excited by a promo. Really excellent stuff, if a bit too spoiler-tastic.

Random Comments:

-I'm sure they chose the nicer animation to showcase, but still, I was VERY impressed by the quality. What I saw looked considerably better than Season 1. Somebody give me a good reason why Justice League can't look this nice...

-The Megadeus designs look fabulous. Each and every one seemed to be of Big-Duo quality. That's saying something.

-Looks like some bad stuff's about to go down.

Yes I can confirm that the animation quality has taken a pretty drastic jump in quality this season (saw clips at anime intro.com.) Very, very good stuff awaiting us in the eye candy department.

Yeah you gotta wonder why Rosewater allows the Big-O to continue fighting when he knows Rodger is insde. He could easily stop him, I'm thinking maybe he's so powerful that he doesn't care, or he's actually manipulating Rodger to achieve his great goals.


Oh by the way any theories on why the overal quality of the shows artwork and animation seem to have taken a jump? Is it because someone as big as Cartoon Network is putting money into it?

I had to set my VCR to tape Big O because my eyes refused to stay open even when I said Hiei-ish things to them and when I woke up at about 5:30 I started watching R.D. When the commercials came on I just presses the fast forward button and noticed a very quick picture of Big and stuffs going by and it took a second to sink in. However when I stooped and rewound I nearly started drooling at this. I haven't seen a promo this good from CN for so long.

And here I thought they weren't going to be hyping this coming Sunday those sly dogs :D . I guess it wouldn't have been a good idea not to considering their investment in it. But along the lines of the promo! I can get used to the digital paint just as long as the music and plot are just as good as they were in the first 13 episodes. However this makes Sunday so hard to wait for, I love it and curse it at the same time. It's like reliving the last 2 years in a week!

Beck and Dorothy DO have such a rooftop scene in episode #26, "The Show Must Go On". I haven't seen #14 yet, so I guess it could a premonition of Roger's.

I think what it is, is that it's you can make a better looking show (if you don't fowl it up) with the new digital paint techniques for the same price as cel. Additionally, I'd bet Cartoon Network had the sense to spare no expense, especially since that if it does well, they can pick up the option for another 26 and get even more milage out of the franchise.
