I've updated The Watchtower (http://jl.toonzone.net/) again, this time with information on Twilight and from the new DVD. Also, I updated the commentary write-ups for Brainiac, Darkseid, and Superman.
Feel free to comment on any of this. Like it? Hate it? Want to point out that I misspelled somthnig?
:p
I hope that it fills all your fanboy needs. Cheers!

Great TWILIGH review. I always love your updates. Keep them coming. I'll look over everything more detailed later.

I'm very pleased that your site was updated! I always go there to get a better understanding of just what's going on, and since "Twilight" proved to be a bit of a headache for me, it really helped to read your insightful comments - even though I think you may have posted some of them (the Brainiac portion) here before.
There was one quote that mystified me a little:
Darkseid has returned his attention to his main goal—the Anti-Life Equation—and his unique answer to the mind-bending conundrum provided a satisfying motive for the unexpected Darkseid/Brainiac team-up.
I think part of what kept me from being satisfied with his plan was ultimately the fact that I didn't understand it. Maybe if you could continue the thought and explanation beyond that sentence, it could be a help to everyone who was left scratching their heads at the end of the episode. Other than that, there were no typos that I could spot, and I must high-five you for the intelligent use of "it" in reference to Brainiac - I would have written "he" by mistake!

Thanks. Actually, it used to be "he" until only recently, until I realized who I was writing about!
To be honest, nobody but Jack Kirby had a definite idea of what the "Anti-Life Equation" was supposed to do, but Kirby originally suggested that it was an abstract equation that, if solved, would allow Darkseid to obtain absolute mental control of the universe by destroying free will. Of course, many creators have debated, added, or subtracted from this concept over the years.
Apparently, Darkseid's plot in Twilight was to use Brainiac to destroy the universe through some means (?), then rebuild it under his iron grip. Now, this isn't the Anti-Life Equation proper, but since the outcome is similar I guess Darkseid figured that it would be a shortcut.

As always, I love your site. Lots of insightful commentary from yourself, and a nice archive of the quotes and news bites that we've been following since the beginning. Two things stuck out for me: The first was the Superman head comparison. I couldn't believe how different all three of them looked! The new Twilight design is definitely the best. Can't put my finger on it, but it seems they definitely did more than take away the wrinkles..?
And the other thing: where did that Amazo pic come from?? Have "Tabula Rasa" images been leaked alreadY?

The pic from Tabula Rasa is courtesy of JLAnimated.com (http://www.jlanimated.com/), who recently ran a piece on the new trading card set (http://www.jlanimated.com/memorabilia/index.php?id=21) that's out now. I cropped out the picture, but have the complete card in the "Images" section (WARNING: it gives the outcome of the episode!).

Well maybe in the Animated Universe that is what the Anti-Life equation does. You said yourself that many writers have added/changed the concept.

The content is fantastic, answers so many of my questions, but alas not all.
In twilight there is the following quote by BT-
Bruce Timm on foreshadowing: “…I couldn’t resist throwing in an oblique reference to [Batman Beyond’s] The Call in the new Darkseid story…(courtesy of Toon Zone).”
I only saw "The Call" once, years ago, so I have no idea what this reference could be. Does anyone know what it is?
I love the content, and I look forward to your updates and check for them often. Keep up the good work, and thank you!

In THE CALL elderly Bruce Wayne says to Terry:
"I never liked boom tubes"
In TWILIGHT after Diana and Batman boom tube to New Genesis Batman holds his stomach and says "That was fun" sarcasticly implying it made hims somewhat sick.
