WBHV sent out a press release with new details on the Looney Tunes DVDs, which I've added here (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?p=860344&goto=postid). Most interesting is that the new Space Jam 2-Disc Special Edition DVD will contain an hour of bonus shorts, including:
Another Froggy Evening
Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers
Night of the Living Duck
The Duxorcist
Bugs vs. Daffy Battle of the Music Video Stars

Is it me, or are Warner Brothers employing some sneaky tactics in order for us to buy DVDs that we otherwise wouldn't? ;)

Actually, it's not that much different than what Disney has been doing with all of their animated DVDs. Lots of Silly Symphonies and Goofy toons showing up on DVDs that, well, have nothing to do with Silly Symphonies OR Goofy.

Crap. Now I've got to buy a crappy movie like Space Jam.....

They're all modern LT cartoons. I was hoping for some older classics. I would just wait for the LT DVD set, not waste my money on SPACE JAM. :lepew: :daffy:

Now I'm actually tempted to buy the Space Jam DVD. "Music Video Stars" is my favorite Bugs Bunny TV special, it features lots of great clips (including a wonderful looking clip from "Scrap Happy Daffy") and even an appearance by :bosko:
Maybe if I can find a copy cheap enough... :shame:

Yeah, that's what I will do. After all, why buy a new copy of the movie for a few cartoons? I already HAVE the original DVD!

I have the original videocassette released back in 1997 which I never even watch anymore.

I'm definetly tempted to get the "Space Jam" DVD too, if it weren't for the special features, I would just be completely oblivious to even consideration of getting it.
"Music Video Stars" is also my favorite LT special of all time. Not only is a clip from "Scrap Happy Daffy" included in it, but so are clips of several even more rare cartoons such as "Bosko's Picture Show," "Those Were Wonderful Days," "Shake Your Powder Puff," and yes, even "Any Bonds Today?":bosko:

Odd thing is that I actually have a copy of Battle of the Music Video Stars from CBS when they last aired it some odd years ago. Think I'll go dig it out. :)
Now there's another DVD to buy! :bosko:

I almost want to get Space Jam just to watch it in widescreen. THAT may be the reason why so many of us don't like it.
Then again, it may be the fact that it's a stinkburger.

The movie was generally bad, some okay parts... But I am extremely tempted to get this one. I can't wait for Looney Tunes or Disney Treasures, I will get them as soon as they come out. So Space Jam is perfect for a Christmas present.
HOWEVER... Blooper Bunny is being included on the Looney Tunes set, so it is possible that these may appear on future LT waves.
Wow, Bugs Vs. Daffy? I remember that. that was a very good special. And I like the modern Looney Tunes (most of them).
I looked at the updated news thread, and all I can say is, don't buy the Premeire Collection folks. Just buy the Golden Collection -- it's obviously a lot better. The Premeire Collection looks like its for soccer moms.

Will these cartoons be released on a future Looney tunes Gold collection set or will I have to buy Space Jam to own them?

Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers
Night of the Living Duck
The Duxorcist
Interesting...as long as they don't really mean the "Bugs Bunny's Creature Features" special.

They are shown in their entirety, but with the opening/closing titles cut off.

They are shown in their entirety, but with the opening/closing titles cut off.Oh. Then I'd probably prefer it not to be the special, just the cartoons.
For a 2-disc Space Jam, most of the features don't have to do with Space Jam.

Ssshh!!! That's a good thing. :D
You know, I might just buy this DVD. "Bugs vs Daffy" is my favorite of the LT TV specials. I have a copy of it that I videotaped in EP mode off of CBS when it originally aired in 1988, and while it's still in remarkably good shape, it probably wouldn't hurt having it on DVD.

I really want to see this special since it's supposedly the first one to use black and white cartoon footage as well as pre 1948 cartoon footage. Now why can't they release the TV specials onto DVD instead of the cheesey web cartoons?

Maybe once the ****** web cartoon DVDs come out, they'll actually charge people to view the web cartoons on the internet...

Same thing here, don't need to buy DVD, must use my $64.95 power.

The extras do sound tempting. "Bugs vs. Daffy" is my favourite LT TV special, and I certainally wouldn't mind having the newer LT cartoons on DVD, but I already have the Space Jam DVD (Region 2). It was a Xmas present I received a few years ago, but I only watched it once. That would give you some idea of what I really think about the movie.
Unless the DVD is on sale at Amazon in the near future, I will resist buying it.

Yep, it is the first one. I also believe it's the first LT special done by Ford/Lennon. The pre-48 cartoons in the special (with the exception of the B&W clips, of course) were all public domain cartoons, since Warner's didn't actually have access to the cartoons at the time. They apparently used PD cartoon footage again when they did "Bugs Bunny's Wild World of Sports" a year later. It was a clever way to get some pre-48 footage into the specials, which, by the late 1980s, needed a breath of fresh air.
Ford and Lennon's LT specials were the best of the bunch. It's a pity CBS didn't continue with them.
