It's a series that started airing recently in Japan. Jasconius reviewed the show (http://users.wpi.edu/~amgillet/jasc/newanime/newanime.html) awhile back.

This series has been mentioned several times in recent NewtypeUSA issues under the What's on in Japan section. From what I read, it sounds like a Digimon knock-off too, only it seems to follow a robot like pluster creature as the main character rather than a kid.
