AN Entertainment's Anime Expo panel isn't until tomorrow morning, but we may have just found out what one of their announcements will be. Clever readers at Anime on DVD (http://www.animeondvd.com) have discovered that the domain name jungleguu.com is registered and a whois lookup on it reveals the owner to be none other than AN Entertainment.
So are they going to announce having the rights to the show tomorrow? It seems likely. And I, for one, will be very, VERY happy. :D

Judging from AoD's Review of Volume 1 of Risky Safety (http://www.animeondvd.com/reviews2/disc_reviews/2138.php), it seems like AN Entertainmen can be trusted for some future quality releases. I'm glad they got this release, though something like this coming (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=79136&highlight=jungle), being a type of series that most companies miss, but would be perfect for AN. I've heard that this series is crazy though, but in a good, fun way.
Miami Guns looks good too, though I don't know much about it. If it is anything like Dirty Pair, I think I'll enjoy it.

i saw the first few episodes of "Jungle" a few months ago. Its pretty cool. If i have the money, ill probably buy at least one volume of the series :) Im just wondering though, what are they gunna call it? Or are they gunna go with "Jungle Guu" or the original title: "Jungle wa itsumo Hale Nochi Guu" or a translation of it?

Since AN Entertainment seems dedicated to faithfully bringing anime over with cultural integrity intact, I think they will keep the Japanese titles. All the English translations I've seen are painfully awkward, such as "The Jungle was Quiet until Guu came," or something of the sort.

I just need to say what great news this is. Guu, especially the first half of the series, is some of the funniest anime I've ever seen. People who enjoy Excel Saga would probably love it.

I caught a few episodes of Guu @ SakuraCon this year, good show. If AN's got it (seems a lock really), it'll be in great hands. I'll definetely look into picking it up.

Oh yeah. I first saw Guu at Animazement last year, and I knew I had to see more of this. Currently, I'm watching Guu as part of my anime club's "crack hour", and I would love to see the series released on R1 DVD.

Darn. "No comment" from AN regarding Guu. :(
Ah well. They did indeed have Miami Guns, so it's probably a good bet that they've got (or are getting) this. It should only be a matter of time before they announce it...maybe next convention?

no comment is distributor code fot "yeah, we've almost got it, but we can't legally say yes until the details are worked out totally."

It looks less likely that AN has got, shown by ANN's AN Entertainment Panel Report (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/convention.php?id=77) and this thread on AN (http://animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=104343), in which Chris Beveridge (see last post by Animeondvd.com) states that AN sent him an e-mail saying that they were adding it to their e-mail service.
They still might be planning to get it though. Why would they add it to their e-mail service? Most of the e-mail names there are from well-known licensed anime, and I can't imagine them adding it unless they are planning to get it. They might be covering themselves because the licensing negotiations are still early in development.

That could just be it. They probably picked up the domain as pre-emptive strike, forgetting that any old person could run whois search and find out who snagged it. Luckily, they've got a perfect cover with their anime e-mail thing.
At this moment, I'd still say AN's the top suspect for guu.
