I'm getting closer to a color I like...
I think this is it! Now if only it had a more interesting name than "CC99FF" ...

oh, my bad... it's HTML. I just wondered if I could put a hex code (no, no, not the voodoo kind :) ) in the color tag instead of just selecting one from the list provided here. They're not bad colors, I'm just extremely picky when it comes to mine, especially when designing a website...
Nitpicker, thy name is Singin' Stray Cat...

The answer to 'what language' is HTML. HTML is the language the hex code is used in. But it works for VB here on these boards too. And I'm a good example of that. See I wanted a blue that was similar to the emblem on my, er uh, Nightwing's chest, so I used the hex code to 'mix my own cocktail' so to speak. I ended up with 00FFFF
Three sets of two numbers. 0-9, and above that is like A-F or H, I can't recall. First two configure red, second green, third blue. Hope that helps at least a tiny bit. :)

so - VB (is that Visual Basic?) sees HTML, and invokes a HTML processor to translate, and then continues munching whatever follows the HTML?
thanks!

Well the code these boards use is VB (which might or might not stand for Visual Basic, but I'm not entirely sure because the VB I know is visually oriented programing) but the syntax originated from HTML, because 99% of the rules for HTML can apply for VB. It makes it easy to use.
I'm a WF Administrator so I didn't physically build the site, and therefore am not sure if the site makes your browser translate VB into HTML, but I doubt it. A process like that is used for mass programing, not web sites and cgi-bins, as far as I know. Besides, if you wanted to do that, why not just use HTML? :)

so, maybe, whatever VB is, is incorporates the HTML language?
(dinosaur starts to recognize obvious...) :)

Ah, if you look at the bottom of every page you'll see the system they use is called "vBulletin", I assume as in Virtual Bulletin Board.
