It looks like WB WILL be screwing us over...
Head over to the newsboard at this site (http://news.toonzone.net) for all the crappy news. Man, right when I was getting pumped for the WB Chat...

Now you know we'll get "Saved by the Bell" on DVD before we get BTAS.

Rassa frackin' slow execs.
I know tons of people, people who aren't even animation fans in general, who would buy these DVDs. B:TAS got loads of mainstream media attention, after all.

This royally sucks. Well, I think I'll skip the chat (or maybe I'll come, I dunno), so if someone could please summerize it, that'd be awesome.

I don't understand why you are all getting upset? I am certainly not happy about it, but I can't say I ever put much faith in that letter in Wizard. And that was the only "news" about the Batman animated DVDs we had. All the other DVD sites that "reported" it got it from this board right here. So it comes as no big shock or suprirse to me, anyway, that these DVDs were never really in production.

How is WB screwing us over here? They never made the announcement. Reading thru these posts, I see misguided anger. I'd be deamding an explanation from Wizard if I were you. They need to be more careful about what they "report."

They didn't say the discs WON'T happen - just that they are considering it. I know we'll get them - but just not as soon as expected.

I will wait to see what happens at the chat and in the next few months. We still might be getting them. For example, at Studio day Paramount says that the Brady Bunch movies won't be out until 2003. But, about a month ago Martin Blythe VP Video at Paramount said sooner rather than later. Now, granted it was a month ago. So either way things can change. Just because they did not say it was coming out, does not me that it is NOT coming out. The studios never fully admit anything.
ps-I would still encourage all members to go to the chat. The more people that ask for it, the better.

I back Dr. Mid-Nite on this. Everyone should try and make that chat to let WB know that we are fans and we are PISSED! While the episode smay not be hitting forawhile, ask if the other animated Batman flicks are. Just let them know that Batman, Superman, Batma Beyond, and JL desevre to hit DVD fast!

Hey, Dick: post that link for the chat tonight along with the time, would you? Thanks. I'll definitely be there.
At least the Cartoon Network started up with Batman Beyond last night. I had my VCR ready and caught one of the JL promos along with an older Bats/CN promo. Cool stuff. Perhaps CN could make a run at releasing BTAS on DVD? They would definitely do a better job, IMHO.

Well, I was there and I can tell you what happened: nothing. Warner Bros. had a 'connection problem' and couldn't make the chat. It has tentatively been scheduled for 10/23. If anyone hears differently, please post it here.

They probably had problems cuz so many people were getting on to complain about their policies and bad treatment of great properties that the server expereinced "connection problems!"

It wouldn't suprise me. I can only imagine the massive influx of negative remarks that will come about becuase of their STUDIO DAY announcements.

I am taking a positive outlook. Ron who is the moderator of the forum. Posted who was representing Warner:
There were 5 of Warner's top Home Video people
in attendence. This included....
* George Feltenstein - Senior VP Marketing Turner Entertainment
* Mike Finnegan - Vice President of Editorial & Programming services
* Paul Hemstreet - Vice President Special Features
* Michael Radiloff - Vice President DVD Marketing
* Kristin Grosshandler - Manager DVD Special Features
I am going to take this attendance as good news that Warner really wants to hear what people want. This is not just John Doe who is the assistant to the assistant of video publicity. These are top people, who probably make the big decisions. Plus one of the 5 has to be a Batman fan ;)

Lord I hope so. The chat's new date hasn't been set yet, but I'm hoping it will be in the immediate future. I really want to get some info outta them.
